We are currently looking for a BRMS to externalize our business rules and we found ILOG. Now ILOG is a great piece of software but it's price is not so great... We requested a quote for the software and IBM seems to calculate the software with the PVU as unit of measurement.
It seems that for ILOG Rules .NET (D095VLL) the unit price is about R9,436.00 for ONE PVU... This means that for a normal SingeCore Xeon x2 the PVU count comes to 200.
So total cost of the software is 9,436.00 x 200 = R1,887,200.00!!!
WTF?
It's madness. hehe
On that note do you guys know of any other BRMs that don't cost a fortune for .NET? We already had a look at the open source alternatives.
