I checked the iBurst website this morning, and amazingly, they had posted 64bit drivers for most of their devices. However, they have not yet released drivers for the old and new versions of the PCMCIA modems. I contacted the helpdesk and they stated that they are still working on the drivers for those modems. Also, you can use the Vista driver in Windows 7. I tested it. Works perfectly. Right-click on it and run it in Vista compatibility mode.

64bit drivers have been posted for the PCMCIA Modems on the iBurst website. These drivers are for both Vista and XP. I'm going to test it on Windows 7 this weekend and will post my findings later.

Shockingly, the drivers don't work! After backing up, seraching for and downloading all the latest 64bit drivers for my system, the 64bit iBurst drivers for my PCMCIA modem (new version) does not work. They are labeled terminal and not modem. This made me smell a rat immediately. It seems as if iBurst just used the same driver for all the modems and did not bother to test if it works. Oh well, back to 32bit for me. Pity.64bit was really, really fast. I'm going to phone them later...Some questions WILL be asked!

just connect your modems through Ethernet? you don't need drivers and works on vista x64, no problem.

If you have a PCMCIA Modem, that means it is for a laptop. You cannot use Ethernet. Also, that means that a user would have to sell their current PCMCIA Modem and buy another modem despite iBurst claiming 64bit support for that device on their website. However, I did speak to Shaun Green, and it seems that their may have been a mistake with the drivers posted on the website. Also, it seems as if support for the PCMCIA modems have been discontinued even though iBurst are selling hem. I'm not sure if the express modems are affected by this not. ie. does the 64bit drivers work or I they just for the desktop and USB Modems.

Hi there

The xpress card drivers work for Vista 64bit, as do the USB and Desktop device drivers.

The older PCMCIA cards are incorrectly listed.

I am awaiting feedback from Product on the availability of drivers for the older PCMCIA versions.

Cheers

Best way to go.

And, as a plus, this will work on most major Operating Systems without the need for USB drivers.

Added bonus is that you can have 20m's cabling between you and the modem (ethernet only), but with USB you're limited to 5m. Great for when you want to hide your modem in the roof (where the reception is better).

The USB drivers do not work for me. The installation crashes when I run it. Any workarounds?

Hi guys.

At which stage does it crash. Bit more info please so that I can assist.

Cheers

Thanks guys.

Have requested a solution for this.

Will let you know as soon as I get it.

I have a solution. You use Universal Extractor to unpack the driver package into its component parts and then run setup.exe like normal. Here's a link to Universal Extractor:

If you have any questions or problems, i'll post a step by step tutorial or i'll upload the driver's already unpacked in zipped format.

Hats off.

Well done vinodh and thank you for the assistance.

Try it out guys and let me know.

Here's a link to the re-packaged driver. I tested it this morning with the express modem and it worked perfectly. Also, since it is identical to the driver for the other modems, it should work for those devices as well:

Good luck!

Yes the setup works using the extracted files, but no the driver does not work for the original PCMCIA modems. Vista 64 does not associate the installed driver with the card and if you try to manually set the driver via Device Manager, you will find the driver now listed but as soon as you set it as the driver for the modem, the modem turns off and Vista says that the driver is wrong. But ya, thats the service we've all learned to expect from IBurst, we should be thankful the installer doesn't fry the CPU or something :D

Anyone know when a correct driver and working install package will be available? At least a correct driver, I can live with having to extract the files form the installer :P
