Hi All
Tried using the TC as a wireless router but alas it doesn't seem to be able to load pages - I can connect to the net and the page starts loading but no luck. Anyone with advice?

I've connected it to the iBurst modem and entered all the relevant (PPOe??) settings.

iBurst uses an MTU of 1392. Change your MTU settings on your computer to 1392.
System Pref -> Network -> Airport -> Advanced -> Ethernet

You can't apply the MTU settings to the TC (why it doesn't have the ability to is beyond me) so you have to apply the 1392 MTU to each computer using the Airport/TC.

Sorry boet - thanks for the reply but it didnt work. Any other suggestion? Do I need to restart after the change? Did it work for you?

Yes, it does work for me. If you connected and your PPPOE settings are correct then i'm sure it's the MTU settings. If you don't come right, download Cocktail. It's a system maintenance program for mac that will allow you to change the MTU if the way I described before doesn't stick.

Otherwise google is your friend, there are many pages on the issue.
I know for a fact TC and iBurst works.

Ok tried that as well and nada (tried it with both the ethernet and wireless setting and both). Here's something interesting. I was messing around and see that just plugging the modem into the supplied iBurst wireless router and tada! - everything works no probs. Then back to the time capsule as a router ant-walla = ***kol.

Gees did Apple stuff this up? I thought it was "just suppose to work" So one weekend later and still no closer to solving this. Starting to feel lonely:

POSSIBLY THE ONLY GUY IN SOUTH AFRICA WITH IBURST AND A TIME CAPSULE!

I tried the IPv6 setting as well.

I do not have a TC but I do have a wireless router plugged into my iBurst. I have used Locations to set a location that has ONLY wifi enabled and no IPv6.

No other connections (network wired, Huawei or whatever) are included in that setup and it works. I share your frustration cos it takes a lot of trial and error

Just to report back, I took Waylon's advice and got "Cocktail" for $14 and walla! I managed to get the TC working via ethernet cable. YAY!!!! It would seem it does a better job than me of changing the MTU.

Thanks a ton boet. Halfway there, all I need to do now is get the airport network going (yep seems to be my next challenge) and then I'll be a happy camper.

I'm the other Guy in SA with a TC & iBurst

So have you had any luck with the wireless problem? Cause I cant take this anymore!
I need help making all my wireless devices work on my iBurst modem and Apple Time Capsule please help anyone please.

I can change the MTU on my iMac but that doesn't help me with my other devices on the wireless network.

Thanks

You have to change the MTU on each device that connects to the TC, if the device can't have it's MTU changed you're stuffed. Big downfall of the TC/Airport Extreme.
