I'm talking about the 1500MB Pro Intro package for R469 which used to be R389 or something on a 24-month contract. Now the iBurst website shows it as R529 and R509 on a contract depending on which modem you choose. Is iBurst putting up its prices or is this just a mistake?

My best guess is that it's true - iBurst needs money .... lots of it, seeing that they're trying their utmost best to get rid of their customers.

Could they do this without letting customers know :o I'm sure they could...

I know people on that package, so we'll see if its true soon enough.

btw, the R389 Play Intro used to be a great package, you get an extra 1GB for being on the contract nevermind that the contract is cheaper, so its R389 for 2.5GB, very good value. It's irritating paying R210 more for 1 extra gig..

EDIT: Bleh, I get some stupid server error trying to get onto the iBurst site.

They can change it at any time if they want to, their t&c says so. If you're on the contract already it should be valid until the contract expires but for all new signups the new price will be valid. Unless they are like Sentech.

Are you sure the info you have on the Play Intro package is correct? The intro package is only 200MB. The Pro Intro is 1500MB with the extra 500MB included and afaik nobody mentioned anything about another 1 gig extra on the contract.

I have a friend on the R389 contract and he gets 2.5GB every month...

Another on the Month-to-Month 1.5GB gets just that.. I'll check up again and see if the new price increase affects them.

I'm guessing that is probably where the most iBurst users are and they saw a way to maximise profit.

It was a special they used to get as many ppl as possible to sign a 2 year contract.

It was R389 per month without a modem.

Ja, I'm not sure if they launched that as a special or not. It seemed to stay around for a long time..

The new pricing sort of makes more sense with their other packages.

Ok, Just didn't see the extra 1GB advertised anywhere.

We're on the 1 gig package on a 2 year contract. We currently pay R720 (modem included). We originally had 1Gb but they gave us 1.5Gb for being contract subscribers.

native, his got his figures wrong since I payed R699 for the 3G package on contract.

That can't be right, the price is either R389 (or used to be) or R529.

Only their 6Gb and 9GB accounts are over R700 pm.

I'd check out that price if I was you... if they are really charging you that :O

I think I should take a look at my statement tomorrow. Might have a prob there.

When we got it, it was called G1 (near the end of last year)
We took out a 2 year contract (or was it a 1 year? Will look into it) and got it R720 with the price of the desktop modem worked in.
Are you with MWeb? I would definitely take another look at that.

With the latest round of Telkom changes, iBurst is being left futher behind as well. And whereas 2 years ago it was a serious alternative to Telkom, I feel it is now a solution to those who require mobility (or can't get Telkom access to their homes).
