at my PC... duh
Hi I contacted iBurst at the begining of the month(4th) to cancel my month to month contract. Now they want me to pay until the end of October argh....(Calendar month notice). I can't remember signing anything with the Terms and conditions on it is there anyone who can recommend a good why to get them to cancel my contract at the end of September?

No sorry you have to give one calendar month notice in our case I think from the 1st of the month. My last month will also only be next month. :(

Been caught there too! then get them to stop the debit orders! :D

Same as cell phone operators... 24Month contract and in the fine print it says "You may not tender a cancellation notice while this contract is in force"

:mad:BASTARDS !

I'm going to really juice my connection till the end of october, got more than 10GB traffic left so going to max it out during business hours hope that hurts iBurst!

I love being childish.....

I've got my WiMAx and am so happy! :D

Easy - set up one PC with BitTorrent - and let it be :D

will chomp up everything :D (if portshaping doesn't throttle it too much)

But be careful tho - they might decide to charge you for bandwidth usage after cap... :p

I have a 3.5GB account with a full 3.5 carried over and 3.5 Next month. But i have a cuning idea will they let you change the service for the next month ? I'm going to try down grade to the R40 for 40M account from the 1st October?

Lets see what happens :(

there'll be a downgrade charge and probably a one months notice aswell... u wont win easily..

Me too. I will also be paying for October. :(

I sent them an email and a fax requesting cancellation yesterday and asked for confirmation. They responded by emailing me a cancellation form that I need to complete. I can cancel insurance/DSTV/magazine subscriptions without a specialised form, but not iBurst. They require a specific form. And I'm on month-to-month. I think it just goes to reinforce the feeling that I should get far away from these guys.

I don't want to burst your bubble but be careful as they can charge you for every MB you go over your limit if they feel like it,(read the small print in the contract) best to make your last month as normal as possible or you might be in for a shock.

I hate this company more and more

Just phoned iBurst they are such rippers! I am able to down grade from the 1st October from a R599pm to a R149pm package. The downgrade cost it R171  ! So i save R279 at leased!

What these idiots don't realise is that when the upset a client like this they are loosing potential customers as well. I work for a small ISP and can tell you know that a lot of people ask me about my exeriences and iBurst is not doing themselves any favor for a paltry R599.

Well after throwing my toys out the cot several times I managed to ge the account downgrade and save R279. FYI had to speak to a GM called Tata to get it sorted out. Don't beleive a word the accounts department tell you its all likes. in Tata's own words "They must have been smoking thier socks".

Now using WiMax and am a very happy camper!
