iBurst continues aggressive rollout

Now if only they would start an aggressive rollout of new packages. The old ones are stale. And the prices are even more stale.

While it once held its own on a value for money basis, iBurst is looking increasingly expensive and inflexible compared to ADSL.

Yeah, I know what you are saying. I had a look at telkom's adsl closer package and that is looking like a really good option. I will be on IBurst for a couple of months more, but if they do not reduce their prices it is really going to be difficult to stay with them.

 something hinky there with what iBurst SA emailed out about launching in Bryanston over the festive season - what happened to the iBurst Bryanston Water Tower base-station that iBurst SA had there since ~November 2004? - was this an additional iBurst base-station or did the previous one get hijacked or something?

AFAIK there was always a tower in Bryanston, this is an additional tower to cope with the load. It exactly what they need around alot of the overloaded areas in Joburg. They also put up another tower in Sandton, because of load, and of course their shop (where you can test iBurst) in Sandton would look terrible during the daytime on a overloaded tower, so the new one there is probably on the roof of the iBurst shop.

The new tower is apprently on top of the Shopping center... and as everyone else said it's to cater for the load...

I just wish they would put up more towers in the South

Waiting patiently in Bloubosrand even though there are a number of towers in our area, but still cannot get a decent signal (one tower approx a KM away, but still cannot get consistent signal even with aerial).

Bah humbug!

I've seen these 10m poles in some people's yards. Maybe you should get something like that. :)

Already have the aerial mounted on a pole on our roof approximately 10m above ground level.

Any higher and we'll have to put a warning light on it to signal to low flying aircraft.;)

Also, not too keen to have it struck by lightning every 5 minutes.
