iBurst continues to struggle with poor service levels

When your customer support is worse off than telkom you got a major problem

Yup... left iBurst a few years ago because of this issue, then considered returning after their drastic price cuts a while back, but after finding things to be worse than ever, I decided to just stay well clear.

This so-called "article" has the net result that I'm unlikely to ever read any "news" article on this site again.

iBurst remains the company with the most complaints on the consumer activist website Hellopeter. Over the last five days iBurst received 24 complaints, ranging from poor support to the unfair suspension of accounts.

I know of only one "Hellopeter" website. These are the iBurst compliments/complaints statistics from the Hellopeter site:
Last 7 days: 0/35
Last 30 days: 2/110
Last 12 months: 90/698

Compare this to MTN:
Last 7 days: 7/219
Last 30 days: 30/852
Last 12 months: 435/8112

RPM, kindly explain to us mere mortals what your definitions of "remains" and "most" are.

PATHETIC writing, because it isn't reporting.

NO, I don't even have an iBurst account

What's going on here!?@!

Saying iBurst has the most complaints is a blatant lie.

I will be advising all my clients to cancel their contracts, clearly Van Zyl is not solving one problem at a time, and then testing to see how well that problem has been resolved - he should go do a N+ course, and maybe a 'lil Project Management as well. The absolute basic requirements to become knowledgeable in NETWORKING... isn't that what their company is supposed to be doing?

iBurst is no longer a 'company who responds' at Hellopeter, so there will be no stats for iBurst on that side of Hellopeter. Among companies that do not repsond at HelloPeter, iBurst is tops in complaints:

Responses to article

Over the last few weeks iBurst has been on the receiving end of criticism against the company online.

I think the present wave of complaints go back to the beginning of December, with the the mass migrations to new packages. Since then people have been complaining about inaccurate usage statistic, erroneous suspensions/capping of accounts, etc.

It is well known that iBurst has been battling with its new iBoss billing system in recent months, something which still seems to dog the company.

Accounting problems at iBurst have persisted for years; iBoss was introduced in August or September 2009, with the hope that it would rectify these persistent accounting bugs (erroneous billing, double or triple debiting), but the same problems prevail.

MyBB itself has seen an influx of new members since December last year, who join specifically to complain about iBurst or seek help from the iBurst reps. But if you look at complaints at Hellopeter, it's the same problems, over and over again: billing, erroneous capping, helpdesk lack of service. We're just seeing more of it because more people are finding the forums on which to complain.

Whether they respond like MTN with a standard reply or not respond at all is immaterial. The fact is the "article" is incorrect.

Incidentally, among companies that do not respond at HelloPeter, TELKOM is tops in complaints, iBurst is second.

Well compare the customer base, if you are second with lesser customers still means your service is cwap.

I'm the last person to say anything about iBurst's service, or lack thereof. I don't have an account with them, and it is unlikely I ever will.

What does get to me is this site's anonymous "writers" who too often get their facts totally wrong.

I never use to have problems with them, but since this year I have battled to get through to their help desk waiting up to 20 minutes on average and for some reason my debit orders are bouncing back one month and going through the next. I just hope Jannie sorts this mess out soon. I dont have much choice in my current situation as the nearest telkom exchange is not ADSL enabled. I am still looking for a good alterantive.
