Anyone else experiencing terrible response times with the iBurst DNS settings? Changed it to Verizon and it's working like a dream.

Verizon JHB: 196.7.142.132
Verizon CPT: 196.7.0.138

Hope that helps you. I find Verizon much better than iBurst's DNS. ;)

I found opendns to be the best and a lot better than the iburst DNS.

Can't send mail through our office authenticated SMTP... = Send an email to the helpdesk to unblock your SMTP address, include IP address - If you are still having issues after they have unblocked your SMTP server, change the outgoing SMTP port number to 587 and enable encryption (SSL), this might not work in all cases but was my only alternative.

As per iBurst site:
Remember: if you're on a network only 4 mails can be sent out concurrently.
Server should be in “host forwarding mode” (NOT “DNS delivery mode”).
Server response setting set to 180 seconds.
Maximum mail size must be less than 10 MB.
Maximum number of recipients per message = 30

I changed my DNS settings to the open web ones, but it's as if they do not want to take effect! I changed all the DNS settings on my router as well as those under my network connections, but still nothing! Anybody else experiencing this?

Ja that's the problem. OpenDNS is unavailable to iBurst subscribers up here in the north. (Those who are close to JHB). It's all because of a proxy that they route us through. You should speak to Michael for all the details. ;)

C'MON!!!! Who the hell are they to tell us which DNS service to use! What happened to a free country!?!?!

Noswal, You can have the OpenDNS settings entered with your connection, but iBurst will just route you back through their servers by default. That's why your pages are displaying. :)
