Is this even remotely possible?

Ping German servers : 1600+
US 1500+
LOCAL 450+

????

What are you asking, if gaming is possible or those pings?

The pings are terrible, probably not remotely possible to game with them, or even to have them. Europeans servers are usually faster than the US, where are you getting those stats from?

You wont get much better pings with INT gameservers on the avg dsl packages.
HOWEVER local shouldnt be that bad, but then again welcome to wireless :)

Nope, was asking why the heck im getting these crap speeds.... and, can one actually do online gaming on iBurst???

Nuff said...

Should have read the damn Q and A.....

Q: Can I use iBurst for internet gaming?
A: If you are playing realtime strategy games such as Warcraft, where latency (ping) is not a big consideration, then yes, iBurst will work fine. If you are a FPS (Quake, Counterstrike) player, then your iBurst gaming experience will be a crippling one. Due to the way that the wireless technology shares timeslots on the base stations with all users connected to it, ping/latency can be very unpredictable. In short, if you're a serious gamer iBurst will not impress you. If you're a casual gamer, it might be OK.

Operative word here is CRIPPLING!!!

Lovely.

Ive had no problems with iburst and FPS such as quake,cs source,hl2 dm & TF2, as long as you're not capped, it runs fine

iBurst works well for World of Warcarft EU. I get pings of about 400-500
Aye,

But i prefer FPS games... C&C3 has officially bored me.
Crysis is cool, but germans keep knocking the ten sh*ts out of me cos of the delay, cant even play local servers on this connection.

Well if you're capped you won't have any internet connection at all.

He is, like me, on one of the pro packages where they don't cut you off when you reach your cap, but merely slow your connection down.

I'm on a 2.5 gig package.

Oh ok...

But, how , if i havent reached my cap, would that affect my speeds? I have an antenna which reads 98% constantly...

I download up to about 700Kbps... 550Kbps average..

Am i just on the wrong servers here?

Any servers i can try that would be a better bet ?

Where can i get a list of available servers?

It's always best to play locally if you can, and saix gaming servers (SGS) are the biggest and probably the best.

Check: http://games.saix.net/ for the list of games and server info.

If you're playing CSS then the server list shows everything you can connect to anyway, but you do need a good iBurst connection.

I play Pro Evo on pings ranging from 1000ms to 5000ms.

 Well I usually wouldn't think anything over 700ms is playable for most games. For FPS guys like to stay under 100. :/

steveb, a lot of sites aren't pingable, especially gaming servers. You can ping saix.net to check your pings to them. The server is most likely up even though you can't ping it.

You can always try playing online chess with those international pings and hopefully your opponent does not fall asleep while waiting for you to respond.
