iBurst gives ...

"iBurst gives".............. haha, what a joke so now we get another 1,5 hours of bandwidth, and you can be sure thats all we'll see for this years "improvement".:(

Now if they had doubled each package I'd say they really are trying to keep ahead, as far as I'm concerned they can keep the extra 500mb and come up with a real improvement.

ROFL... well, as I see this, it is a non-event. kinda sux... now we cant even harras then, saying that they have done nothing.

now they have done something... but it is still a case of way too little... way too late.

A non-event indeed. Absolutely way too farking little, too farking late....

and you can be sure thats all we'll see for this years "improvement".

Ja you can be sure that's all we're going to see for the next 2 years. I think the next time we'll see any "improvement" is in 2009

4gb? if you're talking about speed then forget it as the 2GB will not be happening anytime soon, and when/if it does very few will actually get that speed.

Too little, too late? How long has ADSL been around? I haven't seen IS / SAIX improve the generic 3GB cap since ADSL's inception

Lol, good to see those maths lessons weren't a waste of money. I still think we should see uncapped ADSL by now, atleast dirt cheap bandwidth. They've had long enough.

Really? There's only a generic 3GB cap if that is what you really want. You can have anything from 0.5Gb to local only to uncapped on ADSL.

Yes but for more money. IBurst have given us an extra 500MB for nothing. Sure its a bit late, sure its a piss willy amount but its more than what any of the other broadband providers have done without a price increase.

In general, prices for ADSL, both rental and bandwidth have been falling steadily over the past few years. Prices have tended to fall rather than bandwidth being added to the original packages. That's because SAIX decided to move to a price per Gig model in November 2005.

Telkom, however, did upgrade speeds from 192k to 384k and 1024k to 4096k without increasing prices.

Only if you're on a contract matey.

iBurst choose to shaft people just like Vodacom and MTN do, so ja, no price reduction, just lots of VAS crap and extra megs for the "privileged contract" people

I still have my old Sentech modem.... Just might have to remove the dust of that again....

DraK, I was thinking the same thing. I even pulled out my Sentech modem out of the cupboard and gave it a dust.

Maybe it's a phase the wireless operators are going through.... :p

The only phase iBurst is going through is not listening to what customers would like to see, and then go work out what would benefit both sides the best..........guess what iBurst you blew it!!!........next time listen to your customers, after all we are the people that line your pockets and fill your bank accounts, without all of us you are nothing!!!
