iBurst grows subscriber base 122%

would be nice and do them good to drop prices a little.

oh yes i agree and their latency

Once again since blue label "took over" or bought shares in WBS things have changed for good

I still beleive there are certain areas which need to be improved as they continue to grow.

Thank goodness

Some one seem to be getting it right ?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that twice as many as Sentech in half the time ? Go private enterprise!

how? by getting 20000 customers?

By seeming to have happy customers and responding to the market. I first saw these guys in 2003 at iWeek and it looked like they were just going to head down Sentech's rocky road. Not listening to customers and generaly acting like a typical parastatal.

But I was wrong. :)

Becase they have a much bigger market and demand in Australia..
makes sense right?

The thing that irritates me is that they still steer away from any price cuts.. they only say there will be value added services in the future, which will be sooo amazing. They could be good, depends, and I wonder if higher speeds or a cap increase could count?
If the price stays the same but speed or cap is increased or maby some other nice featuer added then it can still be a competitive price.

yah, but bigger bulk shurley means lower prices?

Well thats what happend here right? I can only htink that in Australia it has happened too as they reached 100 000 Iburst subscribers or wherever they are now.

dude wtf does it matter what happened in australia??

Not necessarily, with electronic goods the more you produce the cheaper they become to produce.
If you are trading in a limited commodity (refined oil) and the demand far outstrips the supply capabilities then yes, but something like a modem, nah, should be cheap.

Yes they are the same and yes they will work in fact I think our modems come from the same factory

yes they might be coming from the same manufacturer [kyocera] but i wonder if they work on the same frequency.

Different countries issue different frequency licenses

so theory says that if i get one of these modems then i can connect here without a problem. hmm... I would have thought if that is the case someone would have started importing them... legal or not

Well I will bring five/ten in if there are enough interest and sell them at cost.
The major cost with such stuff is postage and I don't know what the import duties are on this.
These are on 1.9Mhz are the local ones on the same frequency?

You might have trouble getting your grey market modems on the air. Each modem has a unique ID that gets activated by iBurst when you sign up. They will probably know that its not one of theirs.
