Just took a look at the iBurst Status Page and i notice 2 new towers: Loch Logan - Bloemfontein and Kimberley CBD

When did that happen?
I'm guessing that they are pilot towers and so there aren't any general users on them yet - found it interesting though: iBurst is keeping its promises of expansion albeit rather slowly :)

hmm, vrystaat nogal.. I geuss its usefull for if you ever go travelling that they might have a tower up in almost any of the bigger cities.

I think it went up on monday, in Bloem and the folowing day in the diamond fields.
My thinking will be they have couple of cooperate clients to use for a particular duration.

albeit rather slowly :

I still believe that congestion plays a big role in iBurst towers.
I mean before the "local hands" took over the shares from a foreign company" iBurst was pathetic, both service and speed.

do you guys have to use those LAME lines?
I mean esthey are funny for me to read, thinking that poeple still think a gimic like that will somehow get you customers but on a forum where your not fooling anyone?

Anyway, all in jest i dont really mind what you say, point when are you goignto BURST that tower in constantia up?

Something has definatley gone on at Iburst since the take over, they really seem the most determined force around in SA broadband, nad also the second biggest so maby things are going to start going right all the time form now on... bring on the 2mb pls.

YES! at least now the visits to the mother in bloem can result me in sitting behind a laptop :D

aah but that IS the extra bandwidth.. i thnk you are asking for a higher cap allowance.

I dont know if thats going to happen, Iburst sees that people are still signing up witht the current packages, actually even more so when they DECREASE the allowance (I-go), so maby they should rather be decreasing cap even more? And no-oine cares if you increase the cap, only a few of us, more people sign up when you have adverts that say "at 2mb/s its the fastest acces in SA, faster/better than ADSL" then people say.. oooh we should get that.

I hope that iBursts prices come down if All the announcements made by Ivy materialise. Somehow I don't think so

Is iBurst targert market

Mobility or Home Users?

My target is home users with the added bonus of being 'mobile' it's worked so far :D and of course minus telephone lines......

Keep in mind iBurst Fixed wireless *UTD* is still mobile, much more than an installed ADSL link, whatever companies say, having a fixed DSL line connected to a WiFi Router *ala most DSL Resellers, yes a big one too*, doesn't make your connection mobile, just your reception! AND even then what's it 100 feet WiFi if you lucky not to have electrical cabling in your walls or a multistory home. Someone might comment get MIMO or SRX routers, yes fine...still DSL ain't mobile...anyway....it's still a cool facility though...the business behind it just needs to pull up their secret socks!

Besides I say again it an't sexy walking with a DSL line over your shoulda and anyway how far can you go.... :D *me flips my UTD over my shoulda* see it mobile...oh damn it fell....hmmm wonder if it's under warranty! :D haha

I am inclined to say iBurst strategy is the same, target home users with a need for fixed internet,I wouldn't know, ....but that is for iBurst to clarify! Where this Shaun person...I'm sure he will be able to advise you.I have my own strategy.
