iBurst nails existing subscribers

what will you pay for ADSL 1MB line, with 3Gig? It won't be R449 per month?
Don't know why people are shooting down Iburst. Yes, the fee to downgrade is crazy. But R99 installation fee and when you move you don't pay and wait forever for Telkom to move your line. And if you are go on holiday and it's in Iburst area you can still enjoy the internet!!!

So unless I'm missing something, Iburst aint that bad???

epost, and what will you pay for ADSL 1MB line with 4Gig? It's the price of 1MB line with 3Gig + R40, not R200.

Seriously though anybody foolish enough to stay with Iburst deserves to get nailed.

don't get me wrong, I'm not selling Iburst. But if I want 3gig and a 1Mb connection, then Iburst is not that bad of an option. And it's portable rather than fix at one point.

This country's internet is to expensive to be serious downloaders!!!

Let's say 30 000 customers pay to change to the new pricing, thats R 6 million. I think someone at Ibust is wanting a new Porche

Why are these "broadband" companies so stupid? I actually feel stupid for considering signing up with them, the shame... Bastards.

Funny thing is its cheaper to cancel your account and then reconnect cause that's only R100

Another way Iburst is screwing people :

"All Migration requests will result in Pay Per Use being activated on the contract, where additional data used above the monthly allocation will be billed."

So be careful guys , this is normally an option on a package but they automatically activate it on migrations , so be careful not to get a nasty surprise at the end of the month

Read the article. The company is charging you to get new better pricing.

So if you do not pay the fee, you pay more anyway.
So if you do pay the fee you get a better price at a fee.
By being a subscriber you have helped the company get to where they are today and allowed them to offer better prices to the market.

Stay with Iburst and pay the fee for helping them rip you off. Its not the bandwidth pricing that the article refers t, its them ripping off subscribers who have helped them get to where they are today.

Oh cmon, since when is 7pt font offensive? Please remove it if it's not to be used... eish.

Actually, they tried to charge me a cancellation fee when I cancelled my Month to Month with them.
Just when I think iBurst SA cannot get any worse than it already is, it surprises me and limbos further towards Telkodemonopolies' way of doing things.

The only good deal out of this is to stay with the same pricing structure i.e if you were on the 3.5gig @ R599/month you move to the 5gig @ R599... at least there's extra 2gigs for the same price you use to pay for.

iBurst's bubble will "Burst" soon. It is fast becoming as hated as Telkom.

They know most of their customers will just bend over and take it, that's South African consumers for you.

This really does sound like an April fool's day joke!
