Telkom pricks are messing me around for 3 months now so i urgently need to know who offers the best and effecient service between Iburst and Sentech ?

Thanks !

Exactly, this should be in the mywireless or iburst forum section

This is not an ADSL section. It is "General Broadband Discussion"

If he posts in the Sentech they say Sentech, if he posts in iBurst they say iBurst.

I say it's in the right place and I recommend iBurst if you have coverage...

It was in the ADSL section they moved it to this section :)

Thanks GavinMannion and Terencevs for the useful replies.
Anyone else with useful input ?

Logically, it's difficult to say to an absolute right now as Sentech have killed the (one trick pony) horse they used to romp home on (lots of luvverly bandwidth) and haven't released what the replacement is going to be. itBust :) is at least a known quantity in terms of its pricing/capacity matrix and may well/is likely to be the better option: but they, too, have their pros and cons, RTFM in that thread to get a feel for whether their services will suit. Take into account that, like Sentech, iBurst definitely does better when fed a well managed/sorted signal.

terencevs : You mean "high cap". Sentech has the biggest cap by far.

I have Sentech MyWireless Classic Home. It really is fantastic. contact www.nowire.co.za for good resellers

I've just moved over from Sentech to adsl, with Web Africa as isp. I must say, much much much faster than Sentech.
I know waiting for Telkom to install the line is a nightmare, but once it is installed, its a pleasure. Rather fight a bit more with Telkom (they don't give a sh*t, I know), but don't think Sentech is much better.

Well between Iburst and Sentech atm, it seems Iburst definatley.

You might want to wait a few weeks to see what Sentech come up with, but they have said that it will be lower cap (they really said that high end users will loose out the most) and that means Iburst should be superior to it.

But you dont want to wait, so I'd rather get Iburst now, they deliver faster anyway and are also planning an improvement to their service as well as expanding and growing alot latley.

However check your coverage first obviously, if you dont have good coverage, rather wait for ADSL. Being in a shade or two lighter than the best covered areas on their coverage maps is still fine with an antenna.

I think i will do iBurst, but im thinking of trying it for one month, is there some company that will allow me to do a trial to see the performance i get ?

Don't think there's any company that will allow you for a month. Sign up with Nowire, use it for seven days and cancel should you not be happy.

You can trial for a week from Iburst themselves and return it if are not happy, its just meant for chekcing real signla over a period of time, I dont hink you will get a month trial anywhere, but a week should enough.

i'm on Sentech (Classic - RIP) and their service has been complete **** lately, their international connection goes down several times a week and support is nonexistent. When it works, it works to satisfaction (although not that fast) but it is (was) the cheapest per Gig (at least the classic packages). I wouldn't get my hopes up that their 'new' offerings are actually going to be better value for money.
So i'm looking into iBurst now as a alternative to sentech. I like wireless and i'll be dead before i give any more money to telkom...
