iBurst package update anytime soon?

But still, 2gig for R150.....
CellC is 2gig cap for R83.25per month (R999 / 12 months = R83.25)

Where do you get that price?

R999 is excluding modem... R1500 including. I would argue that the value added options like midnight to morning and the 3 month rollover would justify a higher price. Although midnight to morning is a bit of a joke for the low end accounts.

He means without the modem, which makes sense.

iBurst is also R149 per month, without the modem, for 2GBs.

The point is that Cell C is a promotion... and they are still not consistent.

What iBurst did with the mid month top up was perfect, they doubled our data for the same price.

Now I'm looking forward to the new 2 Mb/s modem, without orange stickers on it...:p

P.S. I still miss the free data between 00h00 and 08h00. (Without VAS)

iBurst gave me new hope when they introduced the mid-month topup feature. Loving it. :D These days, it also seems to be more stable than the ADSL at work. Keep it up. :)

I think the mid-month top-up was a pretty recent pkg update :) I'm also loving it, I go through my download spurts now and then, the mid month top-up saves me some moolla. I'm on the vanilla 5GB pkg, and R45.00 a GB (5GB base + 5GB mid month top-up) is not bad at all. Perhaps reducing the top-up to be in line with this figure?

BTW does the mid-month top-up rollover?

Yes...

Seeing that you are on a 5Gig package, iBurst will allow you to have a maximum of 15Gig.That makes it 3 Months worth of rollover and or min month topup.

No argument, when it comes to cheap data packages, iBurst is leading the way

Speed however, that's one department they need to definitely improve on, i was forced to get another data package with Cell-C because VPN connection to my work using iBurst just plain sucks, pity with proper speed i could have used that money to upgrade my package with them.

Until they sort that out, most of us will still not be happy with their service,

Just curious, with max 120k download speeds, do the 15Gigs subscribers ever finish their data??

UNlike the *spit* cellular wireless providers (Cell C *just* scrapes by with some cred), iBurst have a track record of extensively revising their offering, ever allocating more capacity for the same money.

Ahh, come again? You say their speeds are crap and *then* that 120kB/s download speeds are attainable? And yet, taking a stab in the dark here, many (if not more) ADSL users get 384 or 512kb/s (as against iBurst's 1Mb/s) speeds?

That said, you're well within bounds about your VPN issue; but that's something else, and not raw download speed.

What VPN software do you use?

I use OpenVPN and it have no problem. (make certain that you have the MTU setup correctly for both the modem connection and the vpn software)!

Cisco VPN Client, i will try OpenVPN and see how it goes

Look at the speedtest.net results in this forum. :-)

I have been on both sides of the fence and when it comes to speed...
I consistently got 4MB/s on ADSL on both speedtest.net and real world applications.

The Max 3x monthly rollover comes as news to me. Most welcome :)

The Mid-month top-up has also been a great innovation.

There are 2 things I would like to see/suggest:
1) An all hours uncapped full speed account. (Backhaul an issue at the moment in providing this?)
2) Improved speed via WiMax/LTE (I guess details of that will be emerging shortly)

If iBurst can provide somewhat similar offerings to ADSL all hours uncapped and get a speed boost I do see a rosy future for the company indeed. (Who needs copper in that case?)
