Hi folks

Just want to inform you that iBurst was also hit by the same problems in the MTN Business Gallo Manor data centre as MyBroadband. They assured us that they are well aware of the issues and are working hard to ensure minimum disruption.

Hi The_Librarian

A full explanation here: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Telecoms/9397.html

From what we have heard MTN Business was rather inflexible regarding their planned downtime and only gave their clients 30 minutes warning. For a company like iBurst with hosted network infrastructure it is hardly enough time to avoid a catastrophe.

I am still waiting for comment from MTN Business: It will be good to hear from them what exactly transpired.

Thanks for posting this while we were down and could not post ourselves.

We got hurt quite badly with the sudden power failure last night as all the back-end systems were up and running at that time. Databases, etc. does not always like having the carpet pulled from under them. Also, not exactly what one needs when you're still in a bedding-down phase with your new systems.

But these things happen to all of us.
