iBurst promises better communication with customers

I've been reading this thread with dismay because I do want to go over to iBurst, only to see that they apparently also have an "Telkom-attitude" as well... but this latest news really sounds promising.

If iBurst can deliver on their promises, then they WILL have more satisfied customers, and word of mouth will spread about the excellent service, meaning more customers for them.

Good to see that there are at least good service we can rely on.

Thanks Ed!

Regards

Libs

Anyone with 2 braincells that has used iBurst since inception would tell you they're lying through their teeth as the exact same promise has been made when they started with the capping and officially released!

I would like to know how I-Burst I going to communicate with me when I can not logon,

Like the other day, as I have 5 green lights but it would not logon. After swearing and kicking my PC for almost 2 hour. I found out that the towers authentication was not working in Cape Town.

Fortunately, users with more than 2 brain cells that have used IBurst since inception can see the clear and obvious improvements that have taken place since the management shake-up earlier this year.

Those who have left, like AcidRazor, will only remember the shoddy service we had from the old WBS. And those with 2 brain cells or less, like AcidRazor, will continue to extrapolate the past to the present and beyond, and ignore the mountain of evidence to the contrary.

But there is always room for further improvement, and an accurate and informative incident page would be great.

You expect them to SMS 20 000 + people every time the connection goes down. never heard of cost or anything have we?

No internet provider does that, probably not any where in the world whould they SMS you if there were conection problems.

And I believe it has got alot better. I dealt with the old customer care centre and the new one is much better. They also apologized and the head of customer care is now on the forum. Wher eare the telkom representitives or official comments for the ADSL problems you guys are still having now? The Iburst problem was for a day or two intermittendly, and was solved with a official apology. They also read the forum about it. I dont think this is all that bad at all.

What exactly do Telkom or any other provider do that make Iburst so bad?

As far as I can tell, customer service from this company is non-existent. I joined, had three separate technical problems. The first two times I e-mailed tech support and received no reply. On the third occassion I decided to call instead, I got bad advice on how to solve my problems. On all three counts, I had to solve my problems myself.
I decided the package I had was too expensive and decided to downgrade. I was told it was too late to switch packages but was not too late too cancel, so I decided to temporarily suspend my account. That was handled so badly, I decided to cancel permanently. I had the supervisor to the cancellation manager (!!!) confirm the cancellation. Two days later iBurst deducted money from my account, on the 5th and not the first of the month! I lost track of how many SMS', faxes and voicemails I left trying to rectify the situation. Finally, on the 20th of the month I got a refund, but am left wondering whether this company values its customers AT ALL. Telkom was better than this (cheaper now too)

ever heard of geographical targeting? Much like 5fm advertising does. It plays ads relevant to your area. I'm not saying sms 20000 people everytime the connection goes down, just sms those effected. Ever heard of logic?

The service might have improved. But i've heard these improvement promises once too many previously. Hency my little 2 braincell speech.

Looks like the radiowaves have effected your free thinking mind. Hey, I know, lets just blindly insult everyone.

Brilliant

All I can say is congratulations on a service that isn't working. I never experienced so many problems before. In this week your service was down 3 times ?? I mean I'd rather sit with Telkom than dealing with Iburst. I'm in the process of canceling my Iburst subscription and 10 of my friends are joining me regarding poor service.
