iBurst subscribers unhappy

Out sourced their technical call centre to a NON technical competent call centre in KZN.

This is going to be a major downfall for iBurst.

Have you ever tried to talk with someone with a lack of technical knowledge?

It's a frustrating experience...:erm:

I am one of the unfortunates that they call Iburst client or should that read suckers.

They don't respond to any enquiries even to their own website any more.

iBurst subscribers lash out at company

Consumer complaints flood in about iBurst billing, support problems and poor service levels; iBurst promises a ‘new and better’ company soon

Interesting..and I was considering changing from vodacom to iburst.

Reason been that iburst transfer unused bandwidth to the next month where as vodacom..u lose what u don’t use.:(

Due for a updrade..now which devil do i bed with?

Decisions::whistle:

Read my post above. We now pay a connection fee if iburst's new pricing layout is anything to go by . Difference is we dont pay a fixed rate , we actually pay more for our connection the more we use it. which makes 0 sense.

I'm no big fan of iBurst, but you're completely wrong about the new pricing. iBurst is by far the cheapest wireless Internet provider, they've dropped their prices a lot. Bandwidth topups have gone down from R199 per gig for all packages to R49 per gig for the 8GIG package and slightly more for each package beneath that. Sure there is their "subscription charge", but if you're using 8Gigs or less per month then iBurst is still cheaper than ADSL, especially if you're in a good reception area and can get the full 1Mbps.

Like I said, I'm no fan, but I'm starting to get tired of posts about iBurst's new prices being higher now, when the facts clearly say the opposite.

Their prices are higher in some instances. People who were on entry level packages enjoyed 64kbps uncapped but now they will have to pay extra for that.

thank goodness i have not become a subscriber, their coverage is very poor where i live and they do not have the services i want (uncapped)

1 )
Iburst still compare their pricing on data with products from vodacom , MTN etc.
However Iburst coverage is not big enough to consider them as a true wireless product but rather as an ADSL replacement.
You can drive from Pretoria straight through to Cape Town on the N1 and have a constant internet connection and that is true wireless (speed will vary but you will have internet access), Iburst can not do this.

:wtf:

Coverage defining if a technology is wireless or not is abosolutely riduculous!

My wireless network at home isnt TRUE wireless because when I leave my house, I lose signal. Wi-Fis at airports arent TRUE wireless because for some stupid reason, when I leave the airport, it stops working!

From this thread it seems that every S.A citizen with iBurst is having problems with iBurst, and iBurst is non-existant? Please tell me this is not the case. OR is this just another "let's bitch & moan cause we can't get what we want" thread?

We have some business clients with iBurst (no other option available & 3G = too expensive), and yet we / our clients had no problems with iBurst.

Im not saying they are not using wireless technology.
BUT
Wireless internet is defined by its portability .
There is almost no portability with iburst.
Some people battle to even get a connection with an external antenna added in supposed coverage areas. Try driving around and keep an active connection going , my guess is you wont drive very far without the connection dropping. Iburst lacks the one thing that defines and makes wireless internet attractive, mobility.
You dont price all cars the same cause they all have 4 wheels .
You pay for quality and performance. Iburst lacks both .

This may answer your question:

All what is happening @ iburst leaves me with the question of what are the shareholders doing to save what they have invested ~

If memory serves me right, Jannie Van Zyl was interviewed by Bruce Whitfield some time last year and he was asked if the shareholders will still pump in money into the business, he never gave a straight answer.

So is Blue label telecoms, Vodacom & others driving the market share of iBurst?

iburst should introduce flat rate uncapped! (at a decent price)

at least i will be happy!!!
