Iburst has no setup or connection fe and deliver free of charge in one day as well.
But you can get cheaper modems too, and are those sentech ones even Ethernet or only USB?
But ja you right about the cap thing with sentech.. I think a 512kb or atleast 256 is pretty great deal. 128kb is way too slow, especially when things become degraded, 512kb with 40gig cap should be great.
Oh and ofcourse Iburst is a bit more mobile in that there are alot more towers and tons more coming up. As well as it being available in a few more cities now, and goign up in more over the next 4 months.
While I have personal issues with NoWire, they will perhaps give you a more personalised service than Sentech, and they do not charge for signal tests which Sentech direct do. iBurst I have serious issues about a lot of things in their set up ( a neighbour has just got iBurst) she was not well trained or well informed during set-up. Plus I believe her iBurst reseller tells her she cannot change the password they had set for her by default, which I find very ominous cos it is now surely a well kown secret?? where is the security?
Beware guys of the flexi packages which offer you set amounts and then pay per meg afterwards, you can run into trouble, and I do know that with Sentech, their "upgrades" run on speed not package, so for instance, all their flexi packages are 256 kb/s, and if you sign a two year contract and then find that you are over spending on a flexi package, you cannot upgrade to one of their "classic" packages before the two years is up.
Please be aware with NoWire (not sure if this is a Sentech thing too) even if your modem is under warranty, if it needs to be sent away for examination pending repair, you have to pay a sort of deposit of R600.00 up front...
All I am saying is that with both, read the fine print and insist that you be told everything twice over in detail (so you understand) by your consultant. Resellers for both are using people desperate for work with little to no sales experience and little to no broadband experience, minimal training and then they shove them out onto the street to do cold calling in a very competitive market where they have to rack up huge numbers to earn their commissions, so they are not that focussed on the quality of their service and sales. They have a huge turn around in sales staff and one has to ask why.
