Good morning...

I am (was) a subscriber to iBurst wireless. Received notices that they will shut down their connection on the 31 August 2017. So meanwhile, the last few days before the cut off date, I was looking for another service provider. But was so busy with other things that I could not get around to find another service provider. Over this weekend my iBurst wireless connection is still on which I thought my connection will no longer work. So I was still continuing using it. So I was wondering is it only me or are there others that still have the old iburst connection.

Thks

Yep - Mine still running as well.
You can find more info here.

So it is still running...now does anyone know when will this connection be disconnected? I am not sure what what next move is. Should I look for another provider or just use the free internet. You know nothing is for free so it will not last long if it is free.

Still running for me. Not sure when total shut-down will actually occur though. There's been no additional communication and there's nothing on the websites either. Would suggest that you start looking for another provider in the meantime, as the cut could come anytime.

Thanks for replies. Ok did some googling for another provider. I see ADSL line is way cheaper than what I paid for connection. The area where I live in Northcliff does not fall under the new Rain network so only thing I can get is ADSL connection. Voxtelecom seems ok to me as they bundle data with Telkom line and prices looks attractive???

Don't know why I had choosen wireless as I never google out my bedroom TV that was connected to my laptop.

yip still working for me on the prepaid iburst network using a USB modem, (slow as sh*t, 1MBPS constantly)

desktop modem stopped working beginning of this week the 4th of September,

I think they deliberately letting things work so long as to not kill some services of business that might still rely on them.

Seems like my connection to the Old I-Burst Network died this weekend. Oh well... No more "free" but "sslllloooooooowwwww" internet.

Will just have to live with the RAIN LTE-A going forward.

Oh ok, Mine is still running. I may be next.....

still probably free but slooooooowwww as usual.
