I've been on the MTN Pure Wireless Uncapped with Afrihost (No speed limit) for the past 2 and a half years.

Yet, I've only recently discovered why the connection is so awful - thinking it was a coverage issue.

So the question being, why did the FUP change?, since I'm damn sure that I wouldn't have signed up for a service like this.
I'm paying R949 per month for what? 250GB at full speed and then a 50Mbps connection, oh wait, no, even less after 500GB, no wait, even less after 1TB

  1. Wireless Plus - Subject to a monthly threshold of 1TB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month. Once you’ve reached 250GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 50Mbps for the remainder of the month. Once you’ve reached 500GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 20Mbps for the remainder of the month. Once you’ve reached the 1TB threshold, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
Ridiculous.

You going to get the standard response this is to try ensure the bandwith of the towers is shared and everyone gets a decent experience,. if you a heavy user you will have to look at getting fibre.

Almost all LTe/5G products have FUP because bandwith is limited a lot more than the likes of fibre

Not for R949 per month. Poor excuse to use. Especially since they market this entire farce as a fixed service and that this fixed service is a dedicated link isolated from standard cellular traffic to achieve better performance. For what? 50Mbps. I don't expect any resolution here, just posting this in pure disgust.
