I would like to know if there are new price plans or packages that go with ibursts new PPU "ripoff"?

Also, how can any company go and charge 95cents per mb. i might as well go uncapped with another company for a cheaper price than ibursts 2 gig worth.

Im sorry Iburst but do you have anyone that works for you with mathematic skills. Please do propper market research and check prices for topping up bandwidth.

You have not informed anyone properly of your PPU money making scheme either. I only found out about this by googling what i found on my emailed bandwidth usage report saying PAY PER USE.

According to what I can remember, I have not signed up for the PPU, I opted for being throttled when my cap has been reached. Has this option been removed now? Hope not.

Im not quite sure if it has. I would also like to know if i fall under the "new clients"

I know back when I first downgraded after my contract expired, that was a similar clause in the contract form where you had to specifically state that you do not wish to use PPU.
I know that I ticked that and also in the subsequent upgrade that I made.

I believe i did the same but from what i've read in another forum, members after 1st April 2008 are considered to be "new clients".

To be quite honest Gekco, Iburst should inform clients of this and not have people searching on their site for the fine print. I run my own business and to do that to my clients is just not ethical. They should take lessons.

Could not agree with you more mate.
I don't agree with PPU at all.

Since they still have it:

This should be in BIG RED BILLBOARD SIZE type and shoved in your face.
Apart from that a breakdown of sample costs should be given to a client to make them properly aware of the implications.

eg. If you download 1GB it will cost you R 950.00

They "R 0.95 per Meg" is a shameful way of hiding the true nature of how this could really whack you.

In addition the area which you log in to change your PPU preferences is not working at the moment.

From this page:
http://www.iburst.co.za/default.aspx?link=packages_payperuse

"If you would like to apply for, or opt out of, Pay-per-use, you can do so by logging in to your account below."

Then I am currently getting this:

"Apologies
We were unable to retrieve your current usage. Please try again later."

I hope no one ever signs up for PPU. It's the biggest scam from iBurst so far...

Rather pay R199 for 1GB and let it roll over to the following month.

I hope iBurst gets rid of PPU and that "40mb" package.

I recently swapped over from a month-to-month to a 24-month contract. I'm going to be supremely pissed if I've been put onto a PPU option, not least of all because iBurst's bandwidth usage monitoring is about as reliable as roadkill.

Also, this PPU stuff really is monstrous. It's a shameless profiteering scam. Shameless.

Morning all

This concern has been raised with Product.

iBoss honing is priority at the moment. After that they will be looking at it.

Thanks

bah another scam! FFS when will this country not try to make money quickly?
