You should only be using this when you are capped. Thats the point of it, you get up to 30KB/s while capped, and still have your 8kb international. If you use it when uncapped then you get shaped afaik. But I wouldtn really know becasue never used it while capped when there was actually someone from CPT to share with.
 
Ah okay, I get yah.

Was just trying it out since I only got Iburst hooked up this morning but I'll just wait until I'm capped next month to give it a real spin then.
 
Good good, too bad you arent from Cape Town :( (The hub only works between people from the same area, not a problem for you, everyone on there is from JHB)

I used it last month while uncapped - about 15K downloads. :)
 
Okay, so it is possible, like I said I wouldnt know, no Cape Town people to test it on while uncapped before. But there is still not much point, you are just going to get the uploads capping you very soon and wasting precious 1mb international bandwidth.
 
If you used it uncapped does it eat at your allocated uncapped usage limit?
 
Guys, I can't connect. My client (ShakesPeer - Mac) just sits at "Connecting". I've filled in the port etc, seems fine.
 
I've been capped last month and only now found out about this hub.
I'm hashing about 29Gig of music to share and actually be accepted to the
hub. Id this is DC hub#2, what is #1's address? I searched, but found nothing.
 
This is simply called number 2 because it took over from the original, the "number 1" doesnt exist anymore, so this is actualyl the only iBurst DC++ hub.

A place they call discworld had better also be Cape Town btw :D
 
Hey, my question has nothing to with bots and being banned - but I am trying to connect to Shakespeer and even through I can connect to the hubs, I can't see any filelist, or other users when I do a search. And I am in passive mode.

ANy help?
 
The point o this is to download while capped and throttled rite? What about when the 64K throttle is taken away?

Edit: When i try to connect, it connects, then disconnects then connects to dc planet :? Why would it do this?

You guys are aware that this thread is from 2006 right? AFAIK our beloved hub has not lived up to the past glory days for a very long time :(

Im in CT.
Have never used the hub and also dont know how to set it up.
If anyone can help me , i can give you remote access to my pc.

Asaik iburst has prevented the whole dc thing from working. When I saw this thread at the top of the list yesterday I though that someone found a way to get it working again :(
 
Ok, so who's the n00b that brought this (and my hopes of iBurst DC++) back from the dead?
