Fear not Myadsl'ers as ICASA is launching Consumer Rights Month on 15 March 2008..

The purpose of the Consumer Month is to make consumers aware of their rights to:
• Access to Information Communications and Technology services.
• Affordable prices and
• Quality service
• Choice

Consumer Awareness is about the Authority’s function of interfacing with the public,
public outreach, information dissemination to all regardless of the status in society as well as consumer complaints handling procedures.
The road shows will be attended amongst others by ICASA Councillors and Executive management, licensees and various stakeholders. Our campaign theme will be
‘CONSUMERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO ACCESS ICT SERVICES’.

there is a media relea.se available from www.icasa.org.za setting out a schedule of events in all the provinces

One month (out of 12) . . . I guess it's pretty clear who benefits from the other 11.

Beware the ides of March.

Whooohooohehehehehehehhahahahaha. ROFLMAO. Kicks inna air and nearly dies.

It was a joke right?

How about the right to privacy? Refer to the thread on Telkom publishing unlisted numbers AGAIN.

Is there any exceptions that apply to the 30-day-installation clause in the ADSL regulation?

I've applied for ADSL and there is no infrastructure in my area. Do they still have to install within the 30 working days?

Let me guess, !CASA's idea of a Consumer Rights month, starts on the 15th of the month, and coincidentally happens to end on the last day of the same month, thereby making it half a month in real terms, and tough luck to any consumers wanting to lodge complaints - all !CASA employees will be out to lunch as usual - only this time at some road show...

I think ICASA is a really bad roadshow. Like one of those really bad circus' with 6ft midgets and a female ring announcer who has a third nipple on her forehead.

has anyone here submitted a complaint to icasa and had positive results?

also, who can give me more info on the ADSL regulations? Telkom says adsl is on a best effort arrangement but the regulation says 30 working days?
