Icasa rejects change to BEE internet rules

Now that's just f@$ked up.

Instead of allowing millions of previously disadvantaged people having cheap internet they'd rather let a few fat cats get fatter.

Sigh.

BEE FTL.

Gauvamint FTL.

SA FTL.

Africa FTL.
 
I'm sure that the incumbents will be as successful as Telkom and Eskom in providing a service and that hoards of overseas investors will jump in to help.

But, then, I could be wrong.

Rather than expediently provide SA with affordable communications, our toothless dog puts another nail in the telecoms coffin? Guess the DOC still wags the tail....
 
F*cked up government policy. Just another way to screw the country for the ANC cronies to get rich quickly. :mad::mad::mad:

Does ICASA and the DOC even begin to comprehend how short sighted and stupid it is, or doesn't it even have the intelligence to do that?
 
I hope the international community sees that the post-apartheid post-1994 South Africa is as racist as it was before 1994. It's high time that sanctions are implemented against South Africa for their continual human rights abuses. All people are equal (whites) , but some are more equal than others (all non-whites).

I will not do business with a company that is BEE compliant. Sorry
 
BEE/AA is impossible to implement fairly. The technology to do it doesn't exist. It is a very nice idea but completely impractical and stupid to even attempt! This ICASA issue is another example of where it is failing the public good.

If government wants to help it should help everybody that needs it. Society should be based on merit. Whoever can do something the best, should be left to do it. We are engineering a society tolerant of mediocrity.

Social engineering is EVIL.
 
A governmint that employs BEE policies is in fact openly admitting to an inability to provide a uniform system.
The BEE policies help to obscure the facts.

e.g. Suddenly the failure of Eskom is obviously the fault of BEE, where in fact, it is the fault of governmint policy. And, BEE is not blame-able, therefore, no fault.
 
I am still of the opinion that a government that pushes BEE in an area where they control the chosen supplier anyways, is making the statement that without BEE, non-whites do not have the skills to compete against whites.
 
Lovely, ICASA being the complete incompetents that they are have effectively destroyed any possibility of WiMAX being used. Clowns.
 
Face it, the light at the end of the tunnel for this country has been switched off a long time ago.
