ICC 10 Man Heroic raid setup

Hi guys

My guild is currently not progressing in ICC 10 hc anymore (even though we've already done 11/12 bosses on hc.

Many people left the guild to join a bigger guild on another server.

This left us with a problem recruiting new people.

So the question is, what will the best raid setup be for a 10man heroic raid?

2 tanks, 3 healers, 5 DPS, but what classes/specs :wtf:

Reason I'm asking because last night and Wednesday night we had the below which just failed:

1 Warrior Tank
1 DK Tank
1 Resto Druid
1 Resto Shaman
1 Disc/Shadow Priest
1 Fire Mage
2 Warlocks (1 Afflic and 1 Destruction)
1 DK (Unholy)
1 Hunter (Survival)

Does someone buff Drums of Forgotten Kings? +8% is better than nothing...

Apart from that, you shouldn't be having general problems - Which boss did you get up to?
 
Yup, we had Drums of Forgotten Kings.

We got up to Putri and after 2 nights of wiping we decided to go to Princes where we once again had a wipe fest.

I think it is a serious problem of lack of brains tbh...
 
this is what we use. icc 10 drakes etc done.

druid/warr tank
dk tank

pally healer, disc priest( a must if try lk hc). shaman for bl, with ele offspec for saurfang etc.

dps ret pally or warr.
rogue
lock (demo or affi)
mage
hunter (mm)

in general we take dps thats online,buffs is not that much needed with 25% icc buff

Silly question, but who's wiping first tanks/healers/dps?

hmm...usually the off tank that dies due to lack of heals I think. But it could also be that he's taking too much damage. DK is the off tank.

I used to die a lot then figured Mage Armour would protect against Plague and it does :wtf:
 
the healer should switch faster tbh, though a dk tank with brains can keep himself alive longer then most tanks also have good amount of cds to blow.

i have 6 cds to blow personally, icebound,vamp blood,anti magic shell, t10 4 set, 6400 absorb dmg(not really good), syndragosa flawless fang
 
yes anti magic shell is insane on that, thats why dk tanks can solo it , that and will of the necropolis

Nothing wrong with that setup. Maybe change one Ranged DPS for Melee DPS but it makes no difference. I say 1 or 2 people are not concentrating during the fights.
 
Why a fire mage? Surely aracane is more dps?

Fire mage at my gear level has better DPS. Arcane is nice for burst damage, but Fire at a high gear level has a better overall damage upkeep.

I can hit 11k DPS on fire and stay there for the rest of the fight.

Burst damage? I can sustain arcane dps for hours if need be. What is your gear level?

Okay I read here: http://www.wow.com/2010/05/06/icc-dps-analysis-by-spec/ and fire generally out performs arcane in ICC, but its not the higher of the two dps`s. It seems patch 3.3.3 gave fire some nice buffs and the dps is fight dependent

Here we can really see the sudden reversal in the position of fire and arcane mages -- on the average parses fire was far in the lead, but on the top parses arcane clearly trumps fire. Do they require very specific gear to make it work? Or is fire just easier to play? I have to say, this question fascinates me more than any other, though there are many interesting differences between the average raiders and the best.

I have not had a chance to play a fire mage yet because their dps just sucked for a while in raiding and pvp... but now might be a great time to respec my arcane to fire :D

Sustain high DPS as Arcane? As long as you have mana and don't have to move a lot, sure :p Else Fire is awesome!

Gear level...you mean GS? :p No freakin idea.
