Pakistan's star allrounder Shahid Afridi apologised on Sunday after being caught biting the ball in the final one-dayer against Australia, a bizarre episode which cost him a two-match ban.

Now I ask again...why is it that Stuart Broad wasn't treated in the same way?

The umpires took action and banned the player nothing about Aus must first compain and all that jazz. When Broad was caught, the umpires took action but the ICC said that SA must first complain... why all the inconsistancy?

I echo your sentiments. Cheating is cheating and the culprits must be banned irrespective if the opposing captain complains.

Well afridi was clearer, he has no defence because he can't claim he was stopping the ball with his teeth. Also shahid doesn't have daddy protecting him like broad.

Afridi was clearly hungry, give him a break,or a kit kat to chew on for that matter.

i think it is because the actions are quite different. broad could use the argument that all he was doing is stopping the ball.
