ICC World Twenty20 2012

A quick analysis of the 8 teams that progressed through to the Super Eights, i.e. Group 1, and Group 2 shows that SA were overall the worst performing team.

Group 1 has NZ as the lowest ranking team in that group, with zero wins from 3 games.

Group 2 has SA as the lowest, also with zero wins.

But NZ finished with a slightly better NRR that SA.

So SA were actually the worst team in the tournament involving the last 8.
I can't wait for the excuses that will be uttered by SA management, coaching staff, and players.

SA have dropped from 1st to 5th on the ICC T20 rankings, in the space of a week.

Very impressive! (applauds)

Lol, a reflection of the format - lose 3 games, lose 4 places.

I'm more concerned about how this type of crocket can destroy careers needlessly - case in point, Levi, at school level he breaks kallis batting records - suddenly, he fails twice in this crappy format and people label him as "useless"

I believe people were labelling him as useless in this format, because he hasn't really proven himself in other formats. There is a big leap between school and international levels, and like it or not he does have severe technical flaws that international teams have been quick to exploit.

No, he failed in the IPL as well....

He has a lot to learn and improve on if he wants to go from being a school record breaker to a international batsman. I blame the management for his failure as Faf should have played. Great form this year in the IPL and he was the extra spin option as well as the better fielder and player of slow bowling....

I am also fscked off with AB for taking the spinners off and bowling Albie and Kallis when there was absolutely no need to.

I wonder why Tsotsobe wasn't given even one game...

This all goes to prove the myriad of questions we all have over selection choices, captaincy and general decision making.

OK so 1st semi final soon. I want sri Lanka to win. Home ground, good team.

Windies vs Lanka final would be lekker

Sri Lanka turning the screws on the Pakis. Going to take a huge effort to come back from here.

Go SL! :D

Yeah go SL! Since I'm supporting WI now, I reckon they have a better shot at beating SL :D

Some gamesmanship to try upset the stride of the fielding team. 34 from 19 to win...

Tense stuff this. But not stressful like watching the Saffers capitulate :o
