Iconia A500 owners?

So been playing around with the A500 I won on myBB, wore the t-shirt on Saturday and cap on Sunday.

First thing I did was upgrade from Honeycomb to ICS , then root and install superuser.

Added some mkv movies up to 8Gb in size that play well on my iPad2 but stutter on the A500?
Tried MX Player, Mobo, Archos and Vplayer but they all stutter, they have been set to use HW and not software decoding.

Also, I actually wanted to use the A500 as a media player hooked up to my LCD TV, kinda sucks if it doesnt even play mkv' files?

Thought so as well, then read up on people that have got it working BUT had to convert files that didn't work to use another codec.
Very dissapointed in the screen quality not being 16million as well.

Nvidia tegra 2 cant do 72op mkv even , my tablet i could not play 720p mkv HD series , was not 100% smooth , used hardware encoding.

Tried any of Thor's Roms at TegraOwners ?. My Brother has an A500, not sure how it plays mkv though?

As a fellow owner, recording facilities are terrible (eg in evernote) and there is no workaround for that that I've been able to find

Pity this tablets screen is so *** compared to my ipad2, starting to hurt my eyes.

On a plus side I'm loving Android ICS, opens up so many things that it got me thinking I should sell both and put the money together for a nice Android Tablet but low and behold nothing comes close to Ipad retina other than the Nexus 10 which is wifi only.
