Is there any one out there that can assist me with seting up internet conection sharing.
I have tried geting assistance from telkom with out sucssess.

Telekom tec's took over 7 hours to set the adsl modem up and could not or would not assist with the set up of ics.
The documentation with the modum ref to it as a marconi ADSL usb Modem

Do not use the standard Wndows implemetation of ICS!!! it is so prone to misuse and abuse that it can seriously make your life aliving hell from a security point of view.

Rather get an old PC ( to put a linux firewall on) will help you with that. may I recommend Smoothwall (www.smoothwall.org)or if you have any problems, [email protected]. if you have the router version of your modem rather plug in the ethernet, into hub and then to PC's

still in the dark.
you say microsoft ics does not work.
what would a router version of the modem be.
Whatb software would you recomend for ics.
i had ics working with my dial up account no prob but with adsl i keep getting error "can't find server" have tried all differant dns no go.

If you use default Windows ICS on ADSL, you will have problems with secure sites etc on the slave PC's.

I've downloaded 3rd party drivers which I've installed and using it problem free for 2 years now.

Will post link to drivers later.

Download the drivers. It is very easy to install. You will notice that (In XP) it will create your connection under Dial-Up Connections and not under Broadband connections. But don't worry about that. It works!.

Doesn't work is my general description of things that are difficult to setup and do not last.

ethernet modem is something about the size of a school lunchbox, i am being relativ ehere, and a set of cables plug into.

1) Power cable
2) Phone line for ADSL

and most importantly:

3)A Network cable that is refffered to as being cross over.

This can plug into your computer directly or it can be plugged into a network broadcast distribution device such as a hub or switch.
