Hi all

I wanna put my drives into iCYDOCK cooling bays, but Im trying to decide what the best route would be... Im not a pro in this area! :o

Would 3 x seperate bays be a good idea, like

iCYDOCK MB672SKGF-BB , blacK , screwless + trayless , with blue backlight LCD display for temperature + power + HDD indicator , with visual + audio alarm , for 3.5" S-ATA HDD , heavy duty steel + aluminum , 2 segment key-lock , hot swappable , short depth compact size design , 40mm cooling fan

Or should I go for 1 x something like this rather,

iCYDOCK MB673SPF , 3 x hot-swappable in 2 x 5.25" bay , screwless + trayless - SATA mobile rack ( ideal for raid 0/1/1E/5 ) , anti-shank design , full aluminum , black , latch-lock , detachable 80mm rear fan , with temp. sensor, LED indication for Drive activity/overheat/failure + Fan working/failure status

any thoughts?? thanks guys

I'm using both the single drive and 3-drive ICYDOCK bays. The cooling on the single drive bay is better but it uses more space. I used 2 of the 3-drive bays to get 6 drives into 4 x 5.25" drive slots. AAA, there are also 4-drive and 5-drive bays from ICYDOCK if you want more density.

The Coolermaster device spiderz pointed out is also an option. I chose ICYDOCK because it has LEDs showing online / activity / failure status which I wanted for the array.

This was my 4 bay icy dock unit. I loved it to bits.

As you can see just above the unit itself, I also had a vantec bay, I liked this unit because of the led unit it had.

I used this unit for my OS HDD.

What is the need for internal drive bays.Is it an addition to the drive bays in the case, does it replace them. Why would an HD need cooling like this?

i just received 4x icydock mb22mgr enclosures however i have no idea how to install them or what to do with the thermal detectors , i dont have enough moles power connectors for the fans . any body got any idea how i can go about having this installed.

well because we have plenty of hard drives packed into a close space , they seem to get very hot thus the enclosures have internal fan speed controllers and thermal connectors this brings your hdd temp down and prolongs the life of your hdd. that the biggest reason i bought them as i do have 4 hard drives in my7 machine that excludes my media-player which adds another 2 TB space to my PC.
