So I had this thought.
I think as developers most of us often try to think up random cool ideas. I mean why wouldn't you want to want to make the next Facebook for instance? Or just something really cool and you stick on the internet and it goes viral. I mean I've seen people do some amazing stuff with just things like JS and CSS and then I have to sit and wonder about the enterprise applications I mainly work on. Which if we're honest mostly comes down to the same thing of an interface with a lil' bit of logic that updates a DB.
For example now I just had a simple project concept but my first thoughts shortly after are that it's probably already been done before and even if I did do it then someone at Google (or where ever) could probably do it a far more elegant way or if it hasn't been done then someone has probably already thought about or it's a stupid idea. I've seen this mentality once or twice in the work place.
So now I'm wondering if it's a case of because we're fairly disconnected to the big IT giants of the world, we begin to lose confidence in ourselves even though we could probably churn out some really good developers? Maybe it's just me and my own self confidence?
And my random stupidly simple idea
I hate going into complexes and you have to go through the whole security check where they scan your license plate and drivers license. Then you still have to either type in a code or shout it out to the guy to key it in for you. Why can't this be managed and something as stupid as using NFC and placing my phone on the pad to send the key across for me with those details.
