Hey
Im looking for some ideas for a date
First date went well and we spoke for ages , so im thinking something that wouldn’t involve too much talking
Any ideas and nothing that will break the bank

If you spoke for ages you should of at least got some idea of what she enjoys? Movies, stage shows, restaurants or maybe an outdoorsy activity like archery, paintball (if she is the tom-boy type), picnic at botanical gardens, beach activity etc...

Comedy theatre type show or barnyard theatre is usually quite nice.

Hmm good point
I gathered she isnt into the club scene
But loves live bands

Barnyard is a winner then. Find one of those rock tribute type shows. Not sure what area you in, but if you around jozi, tanz cafe also has decent gigs in a more upmarket kind of environment

The Planetarium :)

:) I went the other day, it was awesome!! A little long, but i absolutely loved it!
Have started a whole new activity thing to avoid the same old go to pub get drunk mentality.

War museum was average, but they have re painted everything and now it all looks fake :(

Wanna try the science musem next!! I wish we had those hardcore dinosaur museum's that you see in the states!

You can try giving the Wits Palaeontology department a call. I recall them having quite a few fossils, and I think they allowed visitors.

Sorry Im in JHB
And I need the idea for tomorrow night or wednesday
Barnyard looks good, I thought it was a homerun there but theres nothing on Tuesday :(

I'm taking my gf to the Walter Sisulu botanical gardens on Wednesday for a picnic :) And then off to see Thor in the evening.

Not sure if that sounds like a second date, but the picnic thing might certainly be one.

yeah I wanted to check that out sometime- whats the cover charge- I remember you could get in if you visited the zoo, but the gates have all been barred up

:)

is there such a thing in jhb? Take a chick out and download a few linux distros from the toaster while you at it- yeah!! two birds one stone.

Movies are cheap at nu metro on a Wednesday, and steers has Wacky Wednesday - Cheap date :D

Depending on your location there should be a ****-ton of live bands playing somewhere, so take her to one. Underground/Indie is usually best (ask around to hear if they're any good though) and don't "confirm" with her by going "Do you want to go check out band xyz at place yzz?", go "I'm going to check out xyz at place yzz on Saturday, do you want to come with?"

Then mix it up with the whole comedy/barnyard theater thing and impromptu light-meal dates or whatever

It's not everyone's cup of tea though, and some might find it a bit boring. Even more so if it's only the second date and he's not 100% certain what her interests are.

IMO the first few dates should be about creating chemistry, so ideally it should be alone time, just the two of them without any background disturbances.

You can always go to the Cradle of Humankind at Maropeng as well.

Take a ride on a boat through an underwater cave and then look at some really old skeletons :D And then if you have the cash go eat at the bloody expensive restaurant or eat with all the other Saffas outside a hamburger and chips.

The Sterkfontein caves also close by.

Its like R35,
my suggestions for museums and the like were not really meant for dates :) at least not in the beginning...the g/f and I though quite like doing things like that!

Ouch short notice. Means you can't really plan anything.

Maybe Brightwater Commons for some tenpin bowling and putt-putt :) too bad it isn't Thursday and you could also do a quiz night at the pub there :p together with food and drink.
