For the last week I've been waking up with one line from a song and the tune. I think it's from the 80s or 90s but could be wrong. It's a mellow/happy song I think.

The words I have is "Earth is/keeps turning" and that's all.

No it's not tom waits, midnight oil, massive attack, mr smolin,.

Fleetwood Mac?

Thanks for this. Have not heard that in ages and never knew who sung it but this just gave me goosebumps.

Good stuff!! Yeah, it's quite a powerful track.

I was pretty sure based on your description, that it would have been Alan Parsons, Eye in the sky.

No, it's actually the Journey - Wheel in the sky song that's been on mind. Alan Parsons you posted was a big bonus for me though :D

Ding ding ding, we have a winner! Journey - Wheel in the Sky

Just shows you how bad my memory is, I just make up my own lyrics :D

Isn't it ironic that sand_man guessed the song you have been waking up with. :D

Ok, got another one. Over the weekend I heard a old song, think it was 80's, female vocals, some lines I sorta remember,

And I wan't you to show me your love
Somebody told me (this part had almost a tina turner voice to it)

Never mind, I should have googled harder before asking, found it!

Time Bandits - Endless Road (1985)

If anyone can help me find the name of this song by Lesego Rampolokeng (my favourite local poet) please,
I call it Johannesburg my City, but the song has a different official name.

The song is based on one of his poems and was used for the 2006 documentary film "The Battle for Johannesburg"

The song is called "Johannesburg", composed by Lesego Rampolokeng, performed by Lesego Rampolokeng & Kalahari Surfers and can be found on the "End Beginnings" album.

The original poem might go by a different name though, not sure. Maybe it's in his Head on Fire book.
