Idle electricity usage.

You can get split units... But mine has been on my roof for 6 years now and still going strong.
The issue I see is I am probably losing a lot due to the weather. Overnight temps plummet

If the wife turns on that God dammed tumble dryer all bets are off.
With the wife in the UK and being a single dad for 2 kids, 5 & 9, for the next 6 to 12 months, the best decision I did was to get a tumble dryer 2 weeks ago. It uses about 2 units per drying cycle and I only do about 4 cycles for the week. I'm done hanging stuff on the washing line and then taking it off again and having 3 cloths racks full of washing if its raining and I can't hang it outside. Also makes ironing easier as it removed a lot of the creases.

That's where you as a single person should be?

I have no idea how these guys get there ...

The lowest I can do for a 24 hour period (00.01 > 23.59) is about 10.5kWh if I don't watch TV.

The majority of that is racked up in the morning between 00:01 > 07:00 (around 7kWh) - when my geyser switches on for 2 hours (I think).

I really only use 4.5-5.5Kwh the next 17 hrs.

Maybe check your geyser? As that should maybe use 5 a day. What do you have on standby? As that's 400 watts an hour?

They geyser can use 3kw in an hour - so in those 2 hours, it can do 6kWh if it's running the full 2 hours. But I'd have thought it automatically shut off via the thermostat after an hour

Deep freeze is 0.7kWh idle over 24hrs
Entertainment is 0.7kWh idle over 25hrs
Fridge I'm unsure - but as it's 15 years old, it's a culprit I'm sure ... probably 1.5 or 2kWh over 24hrs

It's probably your fridge. I had a ten year old fridge and a 20ish year old deep freeze. Those two went through 4kw a day by themselves.
The geyser shouldn't run the full two hours, it only needs to run to warm up the water after usage unless you're emptying it?
Mine uses about 5 kWh the whole day after two showers and a bath.

I get by on 1-2 kw a day, all of which is fed from solar and batteries anyway, so zero cost to me.

Solar Geyser, so hot water incurs no electricity usage, even in winter.
Cooking is LPG, so again no electricity.
Fridge Freezer uses < 1kw day
Lighting, laptop and wifi < 1kw

Garage motor actually uses a fair bit sitting there doing nothing - i've measured up to 70w/hr, so i usually just keep it off unless i need it.

My Idle is 0.170kW.

The Fridge Freezer combo uses close to 200watt.
I bought the Efergy monitor and added in total 5 sensors, Mains, Geyser, Kitchen, Plugs and AV/Network setup.

Was a game to see how I can use the least amount over time.
What monitor is that? And where does it get the readings from?
