IE proxy settings

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
"ProxyEnable"=dword:00000001
"ProxyServer"="http://?ip address?:?port?"
"ProxyOverride"="<local>;any other proxy exceptions here
"
save it as a .reg

well that would be why there are question marks...

Lol, i know, dont think the OP knows :-)

i doubt this will work in any case, obviously its a program or a add-on (toolbar...cough) that’s rewriting the Proxy settings in the registry as soon as IE starts.

But its worth a shot!!
Can even go as far as to create a batch file that runs the reg file each time before you run IE, wouldn’t that work nice

I tried to make it obvious for him. that's why I even told him to apply proxy exceptions of his own.. but you're right.. some folks may not have picked up on it.

...

EDIT: Oooooohhh, just figured out how to set Chrome's proxy settings in a way so that it doesn't share IE's settings :D

...
HOW!?

From my experience Google Chrome is always using the operating system's proxy settings (which would be IE's proxy settings under Windows).

I have now installed the latest version of Google Chrome (v20) and I didn't see any option that would allow you to separate IE & Chrome's proxy settings.
