Gave you a horrible name, would you change it?

I see CV’s and I seriously wonder about parents.

If my mom called me Surprise I would have changed my name when I turned 16.

Lol @Surprise... Guess the kid was unexpected.

But yes, If I had an awful name I would change it. Luckily my mommy was kind :D

When I was a kid I always wondered why the kids with names like Dorcus and Fanny didn't ask to be called something else.

The Indian people suffer from this the most, very few of them actually use their real names.

I once went looking for a guy on a floor of about 20 people, I had his real names as per HR records, which I battled to pronounce. Nobody (all Indian fellows) knew wtf this guy was, eventually I got hold of his Sup. and he told me it's 'Bobby' and everybody knew who Bobby was after some smart alec comments :D

I have unique & cool names, just wish my second name was my first name as it is cooler.

Yes! If it was truly dreadful and embarassing I definitely would :o No skarm

I had an email forwarded to me while ago with some "Only in SA" names. Some of the better ones were Two-Rand, Victor Don't-Worry, Matric-Exemption and Killmequick (No lie!!!) Jefferson.

Too classic :D

Lol, reminds me of Sat night when I went to the Caltex shop. This guy and his sister/gf walk in to collect their holiday rental flat keys but the oke looks a bit scary/freaky if you know what I mean with a dik afrikaans accents. The guy behind the counter asks for his name and he tunes Paul, guy asks for surname and he tunes Stalker, Paul Stalker. I had to walk to the back of the shop as I was begging to shake from silent laughter and would have cracked any second :D

Or the name "Fanny Johnson", I would literally die...:D

I grew up with a guy by the name of Surprise believe it ir not, and to me that name is normal. Same goes for "Knowledge" and "Excellent", even though I laughed at first, but other names like "Godknows" and "Welcome" still crack me up sometimes.

When I was in school our gardener was called TryWell.... and he really did try ... very well

Boy-Again, Advice, Keggie(not sure if it was his real name) and Hendrik-Karina...lol

My sister in law said ( she is the ministers daughter from a very small northern cape town)that The had 5 guys with the same name. Boy when the Dominee asked but how do the mother call them she said: easy Dominee on their surnames

Mine Is Peculiar.

How do I take a boss serious when he is called Peculiar.....I mean I know babies are fugly when they are new born but what did this dude look like?
