My sister was attacked today in Bloemfontein. Stabbed once in the shoulder and her hands were cut as well. The damage might be severe as they cut some of the nerves.

I don't know what to do.

Maybe I should stop whining now and leave the country.

Yikes!! BFN? I thought nothing happens there..I guess this cr..p happens all over the place. You cant leave now, first give her moral support, then shoot the bastard that did it...then leave..
 
I'm sorry to hear Toxin. i also have some family in bloem.

PPL still seem to think that crime are islolated incidents. They should wake up and smell the gun-power (sorry no roses here in SA).

Hopes she gets better soon Toxin.
 
Toxin, that is very bad news indeed and I feel your pain. I pray for a speedy and total recovery for your sister. However I fear it will be the emotional injuries that will affect her the most. Please make her get trauma counselling?

Just an update:

Apparently while she was walking to her waitering job she was attacked. The attacker tried to pull off her backpack and failing to do so cut it off. In the process he stabbed her in the shoulder. She was trying to fend him off and got badly cut on her hands. She'll have an operation later today were we'll hear if there's any permanent damage.

Thanks for all the support and prayers guys. I'll let you how it goes.

Once she is out of hospital, get your family together and get the hell out of this sh1thole. As soon as I get the chance I am gone.
 
Sorry to hear it. That's really terrible, I wish your sister and your familiy a full recovery.

I echo Freshly-ZN in that she should take advantage of any counselling she is offered, or seek private counselling if she has any symptoms of post traumatic stress.

Sorry to hear about your sister Toxin, there's not much I can say except what everyone else said, will be praying for the operation :)

I hope the op is a success and your sister recovers soon. As Freshy said, try to arrange for counselling a.s.a.p. Doing it as a family is even better.
 
sorry to hear it man, a close friend of mine got stabbed in the neck at Wits University a while ago, also had nerve damage but it got repaired and with a little bit of rehab she's a-ok now, so I'm sure your sister will pull through!!!
