Ok, it's not often when I'm not clued up on technology, but I know very little about the XBox 360. Besides playing games, what else can it be used for? I checked the prices of the games...damn...they are expensive. Are there any stores that will have them for less?

Game Exchange or Zaps, check over at the local X-Box forums. I have bought most of mine 2nd hand and have been very happy with the condition and deals I have got.

BT games have pre-played ...... and the 360 can be used for movies, music, photo's, etc (anything media related) :D Enjoy, you lucky fscker and maybe join Live one day so /me can vs you and kick yo a$$ :D:D:D

Thanks for the info and no, you won't kick my ass :D

:D:DWho cares what a console can do when you have a COMPUTER:D:D

Well the problem with PCs are that every few months you need to upgrade in order to play the games. With a console, you don't need to worry about that.

Oh and I forgot: Welkommen to the 360 Family :D:D:D

Hey dude, congrats, welcome.

First off, yes, the 360 is also a media extender. In other words you can access all the media on your PC via the 360 and play them through your home theatre system rather than off a pc. Setup is reasonably simple. If you don't have Vista Home premium, Ultimate or XP MCE, you can use media player 11 or an app called TVersity. They all do the job.

As far as cheap games go, the best thing to do is watch the game trade thread over and Xbox-360.co.za, not only are there pretty good person to person trades but there are also retailers with first hand deals as well.

If you're looking for new releases, online stores will almost always be cheaper. Kalahari, BTGames, Zaps and Take2 are your best bets.

Other than that you can look at renting from tradestation as well.

Great. Thanks for the info :)

Rubbish you're just rubbing it in you sick fscker

Lol thanks :D
I'm checking out zaps.co.za...damn there are like tons of stuff that one can buy. I just hope they deliver to Cape Town :o

Both Kalahari.net and Take2 are in Cape Town, so you can collect if you want.

Kalahari also does free delivery on any items over R350.

Oh cool. Take2 is in Milnerton which is a bit far from me. ATM, it seems that ZAPS has a large variety of accessories. It doesn't seem like Kalahari or Take2 can compete with them in that department, but I'm still checking.

U can also use it as a heater :D It warms up my room quite nicely !

Btgames are cheap with their games BTW - If you dont want new copies buy preplayed copies they're alot cheaper

But R700 a game instead of R300 or R350?

Sigh.

Yeah, I'm thinking of getting 2nd hand ones perhaps or even a swop.

Sigh.

I'd rather not say how much I get my pc games for :D
Like the previous poster said, you can get it cheaper if you're willing to get a 2nd hand one or swop with another person. Then it's much cheaper.

R550, if you know where to shop, and with an R300 resale value on a quick turn around makes 360 games ~R250 = cheaper than PC.

Or better still, rent for just R20 a day.

But true you can't beat "free". Personally I prefer "honest".

Forums and 2nd hand/pre-played stores are your best bet for cheap games. Here in Pretoria East is a place called DVD&GAME Superstore, where you can hire/buy dvd's and games.

For instance, I payed R200 for Virtua Fighter 5 and Table Tennis each. You can also rent games on a monthly basis. I hope they stay in business for a long time :D
