I'm almost a Chrome convert...

I figured out why Chrome looked so horrible in Ubuntu 10.04 - you must install Ubuntu-restricted, which gives you all the Microsoft core fonts. Sorted.

*Wonder how Firefox can display the fonts correctly, without installing Ubuntu-restricted? Did they embed the fonts in their browser??

Nice! Who would have thought that ms would have a big hand in chrome ;)

I have the ms core fonts installed on all my machines. I even carry them around on a flash disk so I can pop them onto another machine very easily. Some LCD monitors look really awful under Kubuntu without these fonts.

Talking about Kubuntu, I've just installed chrome on my desktop to see how it looks.

I think my Ubuntu desktop (and Chrome) would look snazzy with the Mac OSX core font. Now if I can find a download link.... :)
 
I was also almost a Chrome convert, except I switched back to Firefox because I couldnt get IDM to work with Chrome :(
 
chrome doesn't have 100% grease monkey support, no go, sorry
 
A chrome update, 5.0.375.55 beta, is available.
The upgrade, however, has broken the flash player.

I found with Kubuntu (I assume any KDE version), I can't enable "Use system bar title and borders" with the Crystal theme (haven't tried other themes yet). The title bar doesn't appear.
I can't get the 3-click select in the address bar to work in Kubuntu.

I don't use any extensions. What for? So Chrome is tops. I avoid FF with a passion.
 
I don't think FF is as good a browser as everyone makes out. Its all hype.

I prefer Chrome and Opera.
 
tbf opera and chrome render quicker than ff.

i continued to use ff even though i was of this opinion.

People say that, but Google sneaked chrome onto my PC with Google earth and I found it slower then FF

Just converted my mom, seems to be alot of dodgy pages popping up in IE8. They look like windows explorer in the internet browser. Scary c.rap so chrome it is. I use Safari and its the best, can kill all plug ins with a single click and the only cookies I see are been eaten by the coockie monster...

I assume you are just talking about web browsers in general, cos the only way to get IE8 to run on Linux, is in a Virtual Box (which does produce a few giggles and amusing for a few seconds).

The latest version of Chrome 5 outperforms any other browser on the planet. Read more about the Dalvik JIT compiler and V8 engine.

Mom on XP I am using OSX alla hackintosh ... Still waiting for a non-beta for OSX of chrome...
