I'm going on a trip.

When you say interesting things, what do you mean? Maybe narrow down your interests for us please

When you say in Cape Town do you refer to the city itself?

I'm looking for new ways to entertain myself - Telling people what sort of activities to suggest is defeating the purpose somewhat.

I'm in the Southern suburbs, but anywhere in the area, within reason.

I'm just new to the place - I'm sure people who have lived here most of their lives have discovered all sorts of interesting things to keep themselves occupied.

Everything I can think of involves drinking... You could take some nice photos somewhere.

If you can, take a train to Simons Town

Hiking? you're close to the mountain. Start from Rhodes Memorial...don't go alone

have a look at the routes on the MyCiti Bus website. Takes you all over...
http://www.myciti.org.za/en/routes/interactive-routes/

Pick towns/suburbs in these routes, Google "things to do in.."
Do a few routes and use those hiking shoes to explore.

I know it sounds vague but that could be a good starting point, dive in deep and discover yourself.
Maybe you'll inform us Capies of places we never knew about.

Look up some Jazz clubs in town if that falls in your dept. of interests, Holocaust museum, Castle of Good Hope etc

Kirstenbosch is close to you, take M3 towards Wynberg, turn right by Hout Bay turnoff...about 5km down the rd on the right is the entrance.

The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock - awesome, forgot about that one

The legendary Old Biscuit Mill is something of an institution in the Mother City.

It has the vibe of a warm-hearted country hamlet situated in the middle of the bustling suburb of Woodstock.

This vibrant spot is home to night and day markets, dynamic office spaces, workshops and designer stores, delicious farm-stalls, decadent cafes as well as an awesome line-up of festivals and events.

'The Mill' is also a place where people share, collaborate and show off their heart-felt passion. Explore the Mill and meet some of South Africa’s most talented designers, artists, photographers and connoisseurs of fine taste and décor.

Where? 373 - 375 Albert Road, Woodstock

Nice pics! Cape Point is a good spot to appreciate the spectacular scenery from :)

Hell, stumbled across this while trying to figure out my weird notification issue.

I've been here for 5 years, 9 months, 17 days. Seems like a couple months ago.

I'm glad to report I now drive past Pollsmoor every day, instead of walking down the M3...

Also, finally I live by myself, which is an enormous pleasure - You would not believe the shithole I moved into when I arrived.
