When u run ipconfig in a command prompt what does it say?
Does it give u any info , and if so what is the ip.

yah, and when you click on network connections in control pannel do you see anything under the heading Lan/Highspeed

does the other computers on the network have any other service packs installed?

Remember the golden rule, always use the same workgroup name ;) and forward ports for all the games.

I came across this problem today at a client...
The problem on his pc was that even though he had all the protocols installed none of them were enabled!
right click your 'local area connection' and go to properties.
In the list of items that the connection uses - make sure that there are ticks next to 'client for microsoft networks', 'file and print sharing', 'TCP/IP'
I know it may sound real daft but just check it out - Thats what solved it at my client.
