So I ordered a Club3D 6850 from Prophecy, I now get a e-mail telling me they are out of stock (I ordered last week Thursday) and they are only getting stock on the 15 December :(.

So, looking for a workaround I have 2 options to get my new system sooner (hopefully).

1.Get a Asus Direct CU 550 Ti (in stock according to the site, have to pay in R24)

2.Get a Club3D 6790 + 4Gb Corsair XMS3 Ram stick (in stock according to site, get back +/- R100)

Would a 6790 serve me for +/- 2 years and still give me good performance vs the better quality 550 Ti Asus card, looking to play BF3 at a decent fps.

Any help, tnx.;)

i would go with the 550 Ti and worry about adding ram whenever you have a few R100 lying around. You cannot in future upgrade your GPU if you have a few R100 lying around, and cutting yourself short with a 6790 will only be regretted in a month or two.

The HD6790 Beats the 550ti in every benchmark from Crysis 2 through to metro 2033

I admit the difference between the two isn't mind blowing but the HD6790 being the cheaper of the two with better performance is a clear cut choice for me
