Hi all, I've been experiencing strange issues with my internet since 6:30am :(

The problem is that I'm not exactly sure what the problem is.
My router is connected and fine, but every 15 mins or so my computer reports that there is limited connectivity to the the router and I can't access the routers settings page (http://10.0.0.2/) This lasts or close to 15 mins where I can still use internet via WiFi on my ipad but then that drops too. It's been coming and going all morning and I'm not sure if my router is dying on me or I've just got a faulty cable somewhere. Any help would be appreciated. :(

The fact that your wifi drops connection eventaully aswell rules out a faulty cable as being the only problem. The fact that you cannot access your router's settings page means that the problem is with the internal network. It looks like you may have a dying router on your hands. If your computer is also connected to the router via wifi, then try plugging a cable in. If not, I'd suggest checking the router's lights when this happens to determine network activity. But from out here in internet land it sounds like a failing router.

he didn't mention if his computer is also connected to the wireless. I have this issue with my d-link supplied by Telkom. I think it's interference from other wireless networks in the area that causes the issue and had to play around with my wireless settings till it doesn't drop anymore (annoying while watching netflix on xbox because you get signed out of your gold account)

if I assumed incorrectly and it does the same WIRED, then I'd say replace the router (borrow a friend's one?) and test

My pc is connected via cable. I'll get a friend over this evening with his router to test it thanks.

Do you have security update 2823324 for Win 7 installed? It seems to affect 3 or 4 files on my pc. One of them is them is tcpip.sys.
If you do have the patch installed, you need to uninstall it any how, because it was recalled by Microsoft and maybe it contributes to your problem?

It sounds like the router is dying on you what happens if you restart the router when this happens ?
