.. but is there a way to see by how much? I don't have my own Netmeter to check as yet. Does Vodacom keep a record?

Also, why is extra MBs so expenisive with Voda? I *think* my old Mweb used to be an additional R99.00 per GB :/ Isn't Voda like R300.00 or so for a GB?

open up a free account with your voda cell number, register a new password, once in and you have your account you can view your data bundle status, purchase data bundles (~R289 or so per Gig., valid 30 days). etc etc...

You can even get a free e-mail address :)
PS Pre-paid & no contract frills are best option... cuts out the billing mishaps

Because they are making Big Buck by exploiting people like you and me.
They don't cut you off, like the "normal" exploiting ISP's around. They let you go over and then charge you 10x rates.

Yea but even when I know that and prefer to buy more data, they charge R300.00 for 1GB vs R99.00 with Mweb. Everyone has asked me which I find better - ADSL or 3G and I've always said 3G was the cheaper option for me.

That is, until you use your 'cap' and there's no cheap option to get more if needed in a particular month :/

Don't know you are over your cap x expensive out of bundle rate x lots of users x 12 months per year = PROFIT!!!

Sigh, I am always over my cap. This month it was a 2gig adhoc prediction and I have a 100meg left.....

It's gonna be tough going until Saturday...

Maybe you should consider PPDBs --> that way you won't pay oob rates (don't keep extra airtime on the sim) and you get 30 dyas from date of purchase to use your bundle.

Free e-mail = Gmail ;)

OK so I'm blocked at work and can't go into the site. I have, however, registered with www.vodacom4me.co.za ... and exactly do I go about purchasing another GB? Is it instant? How much is it?

Is MWeb your service provider? - if so, you will most likely have to contact MWeb, otherwise all VSP customers can buy data bundles via v4me - the menus are different though for contract and pre-paid customers, but you should also read v3g's sticky FAQ thread.

Remember, you need to register with the SIM you are using for Data for you to be able to keep track of your usage.
