Has anyone moved over to the new Imagine packages with IS backbone. Some speed tests or trace routes would be a nice start.

I was on Imagine's after hours account, but they agreed to move me over to their "new" uncapped account from the beginning of next month (Which is awesome cos I should have to give 1 them months notice) so I can only tell you then, but I must say i was very happy with the service centre consultant I was in contact with :-)

Someone must have signed up for the nexus or imagine uncapped I.S package .We need feedback!

Should be exactly the same as the afrihost uncapped seeing that they are on the same boat :P

Yes, I think Afrihost has much more control over their IS bandwidth pipe, whereas Imagine is just reselling an off-the-shelf IS product.

I signed up. Getting my account details then will post speedtest and ping results (not that I really know what that means! :D)

They have been awesome with their support.

Remains to be soon though. Unless they have suddenly built themselves a tier-1 network like Web Africa, I don't see how they can have much more control than a normal reseller of IS bandwidth. I doubt they have any kind of control over the shaping of the traffic or anything else other than creating new PPPOE accounts on their own realm. What they do have control over is billing, and with this they are probably still buying their bandwidth in bulk from IS as per normal and doing some creative accounting with uncapped subscribers payments.

Either way, I've converted my 10gig Afrihost to a 4Meg uncapped account and am very happy with it!

Don't be fooled guys. I had the honor of testing it. I get max speed on p2p and this was this afternoon during peak time. p2p and http full speed all the way.

In fact I'm thinking of changing from Mweb to this account. That is how good I think it is.

That inspires tons of hope ; However, I really want to know what they deem "abusive" or "excessive" . Just checking, is this the imagine service? The nexus support seems to be better as my ticket was responded to very quickly but can't say the same for imagine support as I have filled out the form and still have not been responded to.
