Immigrating to the UK

Haven’t looked at the table. But they call it a family visa, not a spouse visa. Maybe it’s listed under that?
I suspect its the limited leave to enter/remain - other category based on the cost. But they only show an out of country increase. Maybe the in country one isn't increasing?

Yeah I’m not sure. Either way you’ll find out soon enough I guess.

Gosh, and children have to pay the full price too (Indefinite leave to remain)?

Only if they’re non-British. They have their own fee. But it’s getting increased too.

Fortunately my Son is British as his mother is. So no extra fees there.

I think the biggest changes will be the healthcare charges, I see that is planned for Autumn sometime, so we are gonna get caught for my wife's visa :/

It’s worth noting @Sinbad (and others who are already in the UK) Visa renewals / extension do not carry the new fee increases - as the new fees are for entry clearance only - meaning, if you’re already in the UK - you don’t pay the new fees.

Now just to see how rough the nhi rape is going to be

I'm planning a trip to the UK in December, and I'm just getting everything in order. A few questions that I'm hoping someone here can help with:
1. Tourist visa: going to apply for this soon. For travel insurance, does anyone know if the standard Discovery medical insurance is fine i.e. just print the non-Schengen letter from their site?
2. In terms of accommodation in London, we looking at staying at the Premier Inn by Kings Cross. Is this a dodgy location?

1. I believe everything above the basic hospital plans comes with international travel cover. So you should be fine.
2. King's Cross is not a bad area. Actually slap bang in the middle of the tube system so you will be able to get around London fairly easily.

1. Travel insurance is not a requirement for a tourist visa
2. Great location; especially if you want easy access to the rest of London and I've stayed at the Premier-In in Bank, in London - which was great.
