Very reasonable. But if you put in the hard work there are qualifications here that will get you a salary of over £80,000
I know the rules, I bought a house here a couple years ago and my son is busy with a purchase right now.
It's in the fine print somewhere.
Would have loved to use the first time buyer assistance...
For the work I do I can get £10k more PA if I worked in London.Yes, true. For the type of work I do, salaries are from £70k to £100k in London.

£100+kpa is a bit more comfortableYes, true. For the type of work I do, salaries are from £70k to £100k in London.
The issue is with property prices. London is nuts. After taxes, pension and whatnot, your £80k gets you around £4k per month. A £300k mortgage will set you back £1400 per month, which doesn't leave you all that much left over for all your other expenses. Possible? Absolutely. But you're not getting away with not really paying attention to your budget.£100+kpa is a bit more comfortable
£28k may be the average over there, the avg here is what, R15k ? Who lives on an average?
£80k is acceptable, but I wouldn't want to support a family on that as single income, i'm sure many do on much less
fellow from the intl moving place said they're moving quite a few households to the uk daily, of course that excludes those going with a suitcase and a fistful of quid
absolutely yeah, london isn't cheap, hence £80k being acceptable for some but far from ideal, at least for me.The issue is with property prices. London is nuts. Yeah and £300k doesn't get you much at all in London. I'm looking at £325k in Manchester and with the recent price drops I'm seeing some good options. I imagine a year or two ago I'd have great options though.absolutely yeah, london isn't cheap, hence £80k being acceptable for some but far from ideal, at least for me.
properties wont be purchased for some time for some migrants.
£100+kpa on a single income is more comfortable
we're heading a bit south of surrey, about 40 minutes to waterloo station fwiwYeah and £300k doesn't get you much at all in London. I'm looking at £325k in Manchester and with the recent price drops I'm seeing some good options. I imagine a year or two ago I'd have great options though.
Just you wait for a power dip or a lightbulb to blow.Other than that I think its safe to say that we have shaken the last bit of PTSD from SA.
The power tripped the other day and my TV rebooted.Just you wait for a power dip or a lightbulb to blow.
You'll never be 100% PTSD free my friend.
The alert levels drop down dramatically but the PTSD sticks around. The power tripped the other day and my TV rebooted.
I got a massive shock / fright, but I think its safe to assume thats due to "Loadshedding PTSD"
On a serious note, I do agree with you. I have some unfortunate childhood experiences being exposed to violent crime. PTSD hasn't disappeared, but its much better.
Look what nearly ran me over today!
I got home later than normal yesterday... my Amazon package was waiting for me outside my front door.
Yes you are... the fact that my TV is visible from the road and no one has broken through my windows to steal it is also truly amazing.![]()
