Immigrating to the UK

Got the alert at 3, on id mobile which is an mvno on Three.

My phone tried to read it out to me

I'm in Cardiff.

It didn't go well.

Basically, prawns and wasabi are special at your local Chinese supermarket, and at the end there, it says the first few customers get dim sum for free.

I quite like O2 hey ... never had an issue with quality or signal, here or travelling. I have mates like Dave that hate them too

They have good coverage, unfortunately most of it is 2G or 3G. Even when it is on 4G it's usually snail speed 4G compared to other networks.

Yeah, it's the only network I've used so can't really say. 5G in London and surrounds. At home I'm on WiFi all the time anyway...

I admit I have a Lyca Mobile (which runs on o2) eSim as a back up to my EE sim in my iPhone for the few occasions where I might lose EE signal.

Though EE 4G often offers speeds twice as fast as o2 5G.

Out and out speed (without the blanket coverage of EE) belongs to Three 5G.

Your post made me wonder though, so I've just run a speed test on the O2 signal.

Shows 4G, but download was 19,05mb/s which is clearly shite. On WiFi (Virgin Media) I seldom get less than 250mb/s and usually well above 300.

I see they're currently offering a 1000 UK Minutes | 6GB Data esim for £1 - how bad are they?

Lyca aren't bad, it's a decent back up. My eSim is actually unlimited minutes/texts and 3GB data for 1p a month (for six months). Just don't expect superspeeds, 10Mbps on 4G usually and maybe around 200Mbps on a good 5G mast, though nearer 100Mbps is more normal.

EE can push over 300Mbps on 4G and 800Mbps on 5G. The fastest I've had is over 1400Mbps on Three 5G.

Doesn't sound too bad. It's the first and only payg esim provider I found.

First (and only) standard provider so far, the ones more in the roaming game like Truphone do offer them as well though.

It's most useful in the back of a local Asda where EE loses signal, I can use the shopping app and still have access to calls via wificalling routed through the eSim.

I'm hoping Lebara offer eSim in the next 5 months as they're the other provider to do the 1p a month deals. Though they run on Vodafone and they're a bit slow with rolling out new features without making cockups.

I had an esim with vodaphone last year - they dont officially advertise it but if you did a swim swap on the web or app , then esim is an option. Also requires an initial physical sim I suppose.

Their tarrifs were horrible so I didnt stay with them long

Vodafone have offered eSim for a long time and it's advertised on their website.

That url talks about pay monthly , bwana was talking about payg which is what I was talking about

How did you go about getting the eSim? I have a physical sim on the 3gb plan also as a backup but really struggling with their support on how to go about getting this converted to an eSim.

I finally received my conditional job offer today, still a bit of a bumpy road ahead as I now need to apply for a skilled worker visa as soon as I get all my docs here. But at least it looks like everything is going forward

Epic!

I assume the company will supply the CoS for your SWV application?
