So my friend got her first car. Being 20 it was hard to get financing but eventually everything lined it. It's not what she wanted (Geely) but she needed one and figured she'll pay it off in a couple years and then get what she really wants.

She's only had the car like 4 weeks and this is the list of problems:

The dash is faulty
High beams don't show
Handbrake always flashing
Petrol gauge not accurate
A big bump on the bumper (she thought someone had hit her when parked but she looked back at the pics they sent her and she can see it there)
The keys fell apart
The revs don't go down when slowing so she struggles to gear down
The ignition pedal is skew. It's gone inside the floor. SHe has to pull it up before she starts driving.
The windscreen wipers are rusty
The spare wheel holder is rusty
There are rusty spots on the bonnet
They gave the wrong number plate size
She had to get an auto electrictian to fix the immobilizer

She's asked me to write them a letter for her. I thought I'd ask you guys for advice - what can she realistically demand here? What are her rights?

She was so excited to get her first car, paying for it herself, and I'm gutted this is happening to her.

First of all, are you hitting that?

Yeah........ Should've spent a bit more, or spent same money and gotten an older well known brand.

Did she not test drive this thing before buying it? I walked around the car I bought, noted all faults and issues before I even signed the document. I think she's got 6 months according to the CPA for the dealership to fix all those faults. Besides the bumper and the rusty windscreen wipers, but anything that makes the car undriveable she must get them to fix.

was thinking the same - GWM and Haval are better options - geely is really ***

She tried to get what must have been a dozen cars over a couple months but because she didn't have credit history she kept getting rejected, or dealers who said they'd hold it for her ended it up selling it.

Ah, that's awesome. Can anyone confirm?

Half of those issues you would have seen from a visible inspection/test drive. Did she not even test drive the car before buying?

Sounds like she was desperate and took it for what it was. Now in hindsight she realized it's more of a pain than she could bare. Problem is, she bought it that way I don't think she has many if any recourse.

She just wants the dashboard fixed, the revs issue, and the pedal. The rest was just for "colour".

Sorry, misread her message - it's the ignition on the dash not the accelerator pedal.

IN ALL honesty. get someone to fix it for her, pay them and she'll reward you will hot steamy sex. I honestly doubt you have a case since she bought it that way.

The issues stated sound like manufacturing ***. Imperial must pony up there under warranty.
As for your suggestion, she could probably get some sugar daddy to buy her a brand new german made if she were willing to whore herself. Not cool dude.

You seem to be missing key parts of his OP.

She was desperate and this is the only finance she could get. She knew the condition of the car when she bought it being desperate. Nothing wrong with it, but she bought what she bought. Op can just be a good friend and offer to have it fixed. Done!

Then it makes even less sense.

Sounds to me like this car has been stolen, either it got recovered or the owner didn't bother reporting it stolen.

Post a pic of her so we can assess her options
